Disney Channel (ended 2006)
At least there will be those people (unfortunately, not me) who will take that one special step and record every "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" episode off the new Disney Channel HD on their rewritable DVDs, hopefully using a DVD recorder with upconversion capability. Making sure to have the Angel and "Snafu" episodes on the same rewritable DVD, so fans would be to have The Angel Saga the way it was always meant to air, but never did.
The "Lilo & Stitch" eps will always be around, but soon, the new "HANAKO & Stitch" anime-type spinoff will be mixed in with the original series airings. Wow! More Angel in HD! Bet fans can't wait for that!
I've always recorded the eps on tape, since I too don't have a DVD recorder. I may need to re-record the eps since some of the prints on tape are slightly awkward.
Of course it's totally impossible now to record the eps off Toon Disney since that network has a lower-screen promo hyping other programming we don't need to know about at the start of each segment not just of "LILO & STITCH: The Series" but of just about every Toon Disney and Jetix program from early morning through late night! And let's not forget Toon Disney has an annoying 'rolling' end credit sequence which features a lousy pull-down blind that promotes mostly worthless programming on the network, aggravating the viewers even more.
He meant to say nose.
Anyway, nowadays Toon Disney has those Summer Quest For 1000 Prizes design areas at the bottom of the screen during all their programming (even "Angel" and "Remmy"), so there's no way to record the shows off that network anymore. Blitznak.
Fans wish for U.S. release of "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" DVD BOX SET, BUT apparently, it's going to be a big snub to everyone here.
Let's see if we can rally Disney to finally do something right and release a DVD box set of "LILO & STITCH: THE SERIES" in the U.S. so fans can be able to have a reason for buying a DVD system.
Or at least have the Angel Trilogy of episodes on one special DVD for the fans anyway.
Fans could go to Disney Channel's website and their "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" show site (you need to click 'All Shows' and scan for "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" to get to the site) and E-mail either Lilo or Stitch to explain the problem. You probably won't get a response, but still, at least you're E-mailing one of the main stars to complain about the lack of U.S. DVD release of the series.
Too bad there isn't an E-mail for Angel.
And what's worse: Toon Disney now has a looping crawl at the bottom of the screen announcing their Summer Quest For 1000 Prizes Sweepstakes during all their programming, so recording off that network is now impossible during the summer! But at least you have the 5:30 AM Disney Channel (and Disney Channel HD) episodes of "Lilo & Stitch: The Series" that are recordable- as long as there aren't any voiceover promos during the end credits of that episode.
