When Disney Channel airs this movie, notice that the scene where Nani is chasing after Lilo when Cobra Bubbles left is cut.
No Disney movie has been animated with watercolors since "Dumbo," more than 60 years ago.
When Lilo and Stitch are in their room, how did Stitch know how San Francisco looked like? He knew what it looked like from a postcard.
Jumba's plasma cannon resembles a giant laser pistol.
From the events of the film, Stitch is obviously fireproof.
Lilo is 5 years old through out most of this movie (She blows out 6 candles in the end sequence). Nani is quite irresponsible to leave a 5 year old alone, even with a dog. (Edit: That is part of the idea of the movie. Nani is struggling with trying to live her life, to hold down a job and be able to take care of Lilo. Lilo being left home alone is one of the main reasons that the social worker wants to take Lilo away from Nani.) Edit: Lilo was actually six and blew out seven candles on her birthday cake. Also, in L&S2 Mertle mentions that they are seven.
When everybody's surfing, there's a shot of Nani and Lilo surfing, then a shot of David on his board, then a shot of Stitch sitting on the end of a surfboard. Stitch wasn't on either of the other boards, and I'm pretty sure they didn't bring another one. So where did Stitch go during that time? (Edit: The sequence is not in real time. Stitch is first with Nani on her surf board, then when she surfs alone he is with David.)
During the hula lesson Lilo's puddle of water that drips onto the stage constantly changes shape from one shot to another, also she sometimes is standing in the water yet from another angle she is not. (Edit: Water is water, it changes shape alot, and as for the part were she is standing in the water and then out of the water, the fact that they're all dancing pretty much takes care of that.)
Near the beginning of the movie, Jumba is reading a newspaper that says 'Idiot Scientist Jailed.' Later when there is a map of Stitch's path through space, there's an alien language on the screen; quite different from the English print in the newspaper. (Edit: Did you also notice how all the aliens speak English, too?)
At the beginning, when Lilo is late for dancing, the first girl to enter the stage looks exactly like Lilo herself. (Edit: No she doesn't. Lilo has straight black hair. This girl has wavy/poofy dark brown hair.)
In the beginning of the movie when Stitch breaks out he holds some broken pieces of metal to shield him from the guns. Stitch is bulletproof, so why would he need them? (Edit: It could be very possible Stitch was never informed that he was bulletproof, so therefore his instinct would be to shield himself from danger. The bullets hitting would also slow him down and lower his chance of escape.)
Stitch's teeth change constantly throughout the movie. (Edit: He's a genetically engineered alien killing machine who can change the number of arms he has, why can't he have changeable teeth?)
During the start of the "Bedtime" scene, when Lilo takes Stitch to her room for the first time, notice the nightstand beside Lilo's bed. The top drawer is closed. Stitch jumps up on Lilo's bed and she exclaims "Hey, that's mine." Look at the night stand again, the top drawer is now open.
During the "bedtime" scene, Stitch finds a picture of Lilo's family. Look toward the back of the room to the left of Lilo as she scolds Stitch by saying, "Be careful of that. You don't touch this. Don't ever touch it." You can see a lei hanging on the outer corner of a painting easel. Stitch then jumps down to the floor and attacks Lilo's doll, she scolds him and Stitch rolls up to the easel and proceeds to destroy the picture on it. You can see that the lei is no longer on the easel but is now hanging on the window behind Lilo, from which she removes it and places it around his neck
When Nani discovers the large pot overheating on the stove, moments later it is a small, flat pan.
After Stitch finds Lilo's photo, he runs across the bed and Lilo follows him. You can see the yellow bedsheet covered in stars and moons and planets etc. is pulled up neatly on the bed. However after Stitch messes some stuff around, they return to the bed and now the yellow sheet is mysteriously hanging untidily over the foot of the bed.
In one shot of Lilo in the spaceship near the end of the movie, her family picture disappears.
Throughout the entire movie, the star and moon on Lilo's bed moves. In the beginning it's on the far post close to the wall, then it's on the closer post to the door, and later it's on the headboard.
In the scene where Stitch messes with the blender, the stuff shoots out all over the place but there's no mess.
When Lilo is running up the beach in the initial shot of her, it then cuts and Lilo stops, takes out a camera, and takes a photo of a man. However the bushes/branches behind Lilo disappear and reappear a few times between shots
When Nani is trying to get through the dogflap, Cobra pulls her out. In a closer view of Nani when she gets pulled out, Lilo's blue sandals sit by the door. In the following wideshot they've gone.
When Lilo brings Stitch out to Nani, in the Aloha dog home, the woman grabs Stitch while Nani backs away, holding Lilo. Stitch then walks over to Lilo, with the woman holding onto him, and the wooden door on the counter is wide open. However two shots later you can see in the background that the door is now down and closed.
When Nani brings Cobra into her home, she spots the paper on the fridge that says "Me Alone" with an arrow pointing to a girl in a corner and she runs over to hide it. In this shot you can see that the top of the fridge is empty. Then in the next shot a green towel is hanging down off the top.
In the scene where Nani is buying Stitch, the woman says "There's a two-dollar licence fee..." on the green wall there is a big large empty space. Then when it cuts to a wide view, after the paper is stamped, a big black telephone is hanging on the previously bare wall!
The door next to the dryer that Lilo hides in is hinged on the frame further away from the dryer, which is visible when Nani opens then closes the door to trick Lilo into thinking she has left. However in the scene where Jumba and Pleakley are in the house, going after Stitch, Lilo opens the same door, however it has swapped to being hinged on the frame next to the dryer. EDIT: Was it a dryer or a cabinet? I'll have to rewatch it because I can't remember for sure.
In the beginning of the movie, a few seconds after Lilo attacks Mertle, all the girls, including Mertle, gather behind the director. Mertle's bracelet of leaves is still on. Then when it cuts to her, Mertle says, "Ew, she bit me." and the bracelet is gone.
After Stitch regurgitates the cake and replaces it on the plate, he smells the bait and hops off the chair, the plate with the slice of cake has vanished.
In class, the older girls are wearing some type of calf length white pants under the grass skirts. When the fight between Lilo and Mertle breaks out, the older girls no longer have the pants.
In the scene where Lilo shows Stitch her bedroom for the first time, we see a hula girl lamp on her bedside table, then when Stitch is on the floor across the room, building "San Fransisco" out of books and toys he reaches over and drags the lamp toward him as if it had been on the floor beside him. Moments later the lamp is back on the table, and the mess is gone.
When Nani, Stitch and Lilo are at home passing from stairs to entrance, you can see the light switch close to the book shelf. When they reach the entrance, the light switch has mysteriously vanished
In the scene where Lilo is in her bedroom, and Nani brings her up a slice of pizza, Lilo wants to tell her a story. So she sets her doll down on the bed, and it appears to be right in front of the pillow. Then the shot changes, and the doll is down past Lilo's legs, closer to the wall.
When Lilo is taken away, Stitch scratchs the tube. The markings he made, disappear and reappear repeatedly.
In the scene where Nani and Lilo are sitting and singing in the hammock, there are two torches that keep appearing and disappearing.
When Nani is trying to drag Stitch out of the house, he scratches the door frame. These scratches disappear and reappear throughout the movie.
Start of movie -- Hula class --> the two men in the corner seem to be tapping yellow drums shaped like bowling pins, yet when Lilo makes her comment about Pudge the fish controlling the weather it cuts to the men for a reaction and the one on the right appears to be holding a large red normal shaped drum.
At the beginning of the movie, during the opening credits, when Lilo realizes she is late for her hula practice she is racing along the beach pulling her grass skirt and legbands on over her red and yellow swimsuit. She is still wearing this swimsuit as she walks into the school. But when she rejoins the other girls she is wearing the burgundy top that the other girls are wearing. When did she have time to change into this? Even if she did find a place to change, why put on her grass skirt and legbands while running if she knew she would be able to change? (Edit: No, she puts it on over the swim suit because it even shows when she is stuggling to put it on.)
Lilo keeps a photo of her parents under her pillow. It wasn't there when she screamed into it
After the explosion of Lilo's house, her picture of her family is burned on the top right and bottom left sides. in later shots, the picture is burned on the top left and bottom right. it switches back and forth many times.
Mertle claims to have been bitten by Lilo, but the bitemark is not visible.
When Pleakley was carrying her, Lilo's sandals disappeared.
(Jumba puts a carrot in the plasma cannon) Jumba: (Sternly) You shouldn't play with guns Stitch: Oh. OK. (Gives Jumba the gun) Jumba: Thank you. (Sees it is about to explode) Oh. I just remembered. It's your birthday. Happy birthday. (Gives Stitch the gun and tries to move away) Stitch: (Throws the gun back) Merry Christmas Jumba: (Throws the gun back) It's not Christmas Stitch: (Throws the gun back) Happy Channukah! Jumba: (Throws the gun back) It's not Channukah! (Pleakley has picked up Lilo and escapes) Lilo: We're leaving Stitch? Pleakley: Trust me, this is not gonna end well! (Jumba and Stitch are throwing the gun back and forth with each line) Jumba: One potato! Stitch: Two potato! Jumba: Three potato! Stitch: Four! Jumba: Five potato! Stitch: Six potato! Jumba: Seven potato more! Stitch: My... Jumba: mother... Stitch: told... Jumba: me... Stitch: you... Jumba: are... Stitch: ...the best. Jumba: (Holding the gun) Ha! I win! (Gun explodes)
Lilo: No more caffeine for you.
Jumba: What? Do you think we walked here???
Lilo: It's all you! Knock 'em dead!!
Lilo: Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw!
Pleakley: (sarcastically) Oh, good, I was hoping to add theft, endangerment and insanity to my list of things I did today! Jumba: (laughs) You too?
Stitch: Hey, Jumbaa jugabli! Jumba: WHAT! After all you've put me through, you expect me to help you, just like that, JUST LIKE THAT?!? Stitch: Ih. Jumba: Fine. Pleakley: Fine? You're doing what he says? Jumba: Heh, he is very persuasive.
Jumba: Is nothing to be worrying about, we are professionals... hey, get that out of your mouth!
Lilo: I paid 2 dollars for him!
Grand Council Woman: That would require an understanding of 6-2-6 that we do not possess. Who do you suggest we send? Pleakley: Does he have a close cousin?
Lilo: DAVID! I got a new dog! David: Oh really? You're sure he's a dog? Lilo: Uh-huh. He used to be a collie before he got run over.
Yuki: If you have rabies, the dog catchers are going to have to...
Lilo: Have you ever killed anyone? Cobra: We're getting off that subject.
Stitch: This is my family. I found it all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good... Yeah, still good.
[Lilo slams her bedroom door] Nani: GO TO YOUR ROOM!! [Lilo opens door again] Lilo: I'M ALREADY IN MY ROOM!!
Lilo: It's alright. I read her diary. She likes your butt and fancy hair. David: She thinks it's fancy?
Jumba: Come on! What's the big deal? I'll put you back together again! I'll make you taller and less fluffy! Stitch: I like fluffy!
Stitch: YEE HA! [Stitch crashes through Gantu's ship and lands on the dashboard] Stitch: Aloha! Gantu: You're vile! [Gantu thumps the dashboard, but Stitch moves] Gantu: You're foul! [Gantu thumps the dashboard, but Stitch moves again] Gantu: You're nasty! [Gantu thumps the dashboard again, this time crushing Stitch. Stitch lifts up Gantu's fist] Stitch: Also cute and FLUFFY
Stitch: Ohana. Jumba: Hey, get away from her! Nani: No! What did you say? Stitch: Ohana means family. Family means... Nani: ...nobody gets left behind. Stitch: Or forgotten.
Cobra Bubbles: I am the one they call they call when things go wrong. And things have indeed gone wrong
Nani: I think it might be a koala... an evil koala. I can't even pet it. It looked at me like it wants to eat me!

In this movie, many characters look younger than in the series. Lilo looks shorter and her face is smaller. Jumba is thinner, a tad shorter, and has an resemblance of a dog when he turns to his side. Gantu's skin is dark blue but in the series it's somewhat of teal, he's taller and has his mouth makes him look younger.
The Summer 2002 issue of Disney News advised readers to watch for references in "Lilo" to "Mulan," Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida's first feature film. I found two: A poster in the dog pound urging people to adopt a dog features a boy hugging Little Brother, Mulan's dog. Later, in a shot of a Hawaii street, one restaurant's name read "Mulan Wok".
The tune Stitch plays on his guitar is actualy the tune of "Devil in Disguise" which is another one of Elvis Presley's greatest hits.
Recall that Lilo's excuse for being late for dance class was that she needed to get a peanut butter sandwich for Pudge the Fish. Now watch the very beginning of the first Hawaii scene when all of the fish swim in front of the screen. One of the fish is Pudge himself, carrying a peanut butter sandwich.
The same art designer for Lilo & Stitch did the art for Mulan. He was so inspired by the Japanese animator Miyazaki that he put a little nod to him. Nani goes to 'Kiki's Coffee Hut' to look for a job, and that name alone is a nod to 'Kiki's Delivery Service' that Miyazaki did.
When Nani is looking through the book of different kinds of dogs, watch closely. One of the pages has Lafayette, one of the dogs in the Aristocats.
Stitch translation: EL KI-YO-TAY="Good idea." It refers to El Coyote, one of the producers' favorite restaurants.
A 2-disk special edition version of the film will be released in 2005, coinciding with the release of Lilo and Stitch 2 to cinemas in the US EDIT1: L&S 2 will be straight to video. EDIT2: L&S Ultimate has been pushed back til 2006 now! (But apparently it is available in the UK)
Opens with the song 'He Mele No Lilo'
If you look closely when the paper is stamped to show Lilo owns Stitch, the paper actually includes copyright laws about Disney and the film.
There are some CGI animated objects in the movie, which are cel-shaded in their style. Most noticeably, these are the spaceships, and Mertle's bike
Jason Scott Lee originally played the part of David, but did not accept the offer to star in Stitch! - The Movie or the series when he was offered, because he didn't want to have to travel to Hollywood whenever he was needed.
Originally, the final chase scene of the movie involved Stitch hijacking a plane from the Honolulu airport and joyriding it around the city, but this had to be changed due to the 9/11 attacks.
On Stitch's adoption form at the shelter, you can see that Lilo's last name is "Pelekai".
Lilo has a Dumbo toy in her bedroom. And Nani has a Mulan poster in her bedroom.
During Stitch's destroying rampage, he breaks a drawing by Lilo and she claims that it belonged to her "Blue period", an obvious reference to the painter Pablo Picasso.
