  • Great follow up to the pilot.

I know I'm a little late with this, but I just got caught up. This was a really great story and a neat way to deal with the fallout from Donelle's shooting. A local Al Sharpton-like community activist has forced to department to conduct a no-holds-barred IA investigation on Eddie. By the end, Eddie has a way out - if he will only sell out Donelle's memory in exchange for his own career. Eddie refuses to lie to save his own ass, and ends up earning the respect of the very activist who turned him into a community target. Also loved how Eddie's dilemma directly paralleled Cassie's - how both of them could have lied to serve the greater good, and how neither of them did. For those who thought the kids' stories resolved too neatly in the pilot, this episode will feel like a gift to you. Cassie still has a lot of feelings that have gone unexpressed to Eddie: fear, and yes, resentment over having her life uprooted. When Eddie asks Cassie if she can forgive him, her response is a lot more honest and believable: "I don't know if I can." But don't worry, the episode does end on a note of hope for their relationship, "I didn't say I wasn't willing to try." A nice companion episode to the pilot.moreless

Im really starting to like this series. Cassie has to make a big decision about the shooting and protecting her father. They give her to chances and she tells them the truth, that she didnt see the gun pointed at her father b/c she was already outside. Cassie and her brother and sister are harassed at school b/c of the shooting that involved their father. Charles goes up to Cassie and wants to talk about the shooting. And Cassie tells him to stay out of her business but then later on she tells him that she wants him in her business . Eddie's boss tells him that he needs to say that the boy he killed was a drug user even tho he wasnt and Eddie wouldnt do that. But in the end Eddie was following the right procedure. And still has his job and doesnt have to do desk duty anymore. Great Episode!!!moreless
