At the end of the episode, the judge reveals that Mrs. Oleson has offered Mrs. Mills a job, should she choose to live in Walnut Grove, and Dr. Baker will provide for the family for as long as they live there. It would seem that either Mrs. Mills chose not to take them up on the offer, or did so for a very-limited (and non-visible) time. We never saw anyone else working for the Olesons besides Caroline and Hester-Sue.
Actress Barbara Collentine, who played Edna Mills in this episode, is the wife of Richard Bull (Nels Oleson).
Dub Taylor makes his last appearance on the series as Houston Lamb.
