  • Notes

    • This is an interesting episode to watch from a cinematography standpoint, because it was filmed from camera positions not normally used. We see the side of the Olesons' house (where Harriet is actually hanging laundry), the "loading dock" door of the mercantile, and a view of the school with the school's outhouse actually in the foreground. You also get a good view of the mountains (probably California's San Gabriels) while Laura runs across the "Minnesota" prairie.

    • The goat's original owner, Mr. Parsons, is played by Don "Red" Barry. The same actor later plays Mr. Larrabee, a much angrier citizen of Walnut Grove and an enemy of Jonathan Garvey.
