In this episode, Caroline is distraught to learn that she is "going through the change," but strangely, in Season 4's A Most Precious Gift, she mistook her pregnancy for menopause, and she was very accepting of it. Why would she be significantly more upset now? Granted, she got her hopes up too high about the possible pregnancy, and that probably contributed to her pain, but you'd think that in that Season 4 episode, she'd be more upset about the idea of not being able to conceive anymore, especially since she says in this episode that she believes Charles will think of her as "nothing" now that she is no longer fertile. Something doesn't seem quite right about the drastic difference in Caroline's attitude toward menopause.
