Little House on the Prairie

Leslie Landon, daughter of Michael Landon, played the plague-stricken young girl in this episode. The two of them had a very tender and personal scene together, and Leslie once said that her father got so emotional the first time they filmed the scene, they had to re-shoot it, because it wouldn't have been realistic for Charles to be that way with a "neighbor's child" who wasn't even his own. Leslie has recalled the pride that she felt filming this episode, her first acting gig ever, and while she did go on to have several single-episode roles on the show before landing a recurring role for Seasons 9 and 10, this episode here is her fondest memory of working with her father.

Actors Matt Clark (Eric Boulton) and Helen Clark (Sylvie Boulton) are real-life husband and wife.

Actor Bill Quinn would go on to appear in three more Little House episodes: Season 2's The Long Road Home, Season 5's Blind Journey, Part 2, and Season 5's ,em>The Odyssey.
