A pleasant family journey becomes the stuff that nightmares are made of when they hit a nasty blizzard on their way back to Walnut Grove and must seek shelter in an abandoned cabin. The snow is so bad that they cannot continue on and so, Charles must go out hunting food food before they all starve to death. Shooting a good-sized deer, Charles is overcome by the storm, but is saved by Lame Horse, the last of an Indian trible who is on the run from the law, one of whom turns up at the cabin where the Ingalls' are sheltering, determined to find him. The man is mad with hatred but the Indian holds his quiet dignity and the lawman decides to let him go.
A good story, but made annoying by some bad performances from the guest actor, whom I think could have done much better.
