Episode Summary

Sylvia (2)

Albert's girlfriend's pregnancy brings chaos into both their lives.

Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • Something completely strange for Little House on The Prairie.

In my opinion, this episode is not what we know us Little House on The Prairie. The man with the clown mask is scary and creepy and I believe this episode -as well as the previous one- isn't for children. It was, of course, great as always. I was pretty sure from the beginning who was the man with the mask.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Sylvia: (when her father loads his gun to kill Albert) Pa, no! He's my friend! He was only here for a few minutes, and then he left!
Mr. Webb: What was he doing here? What was he doing?
Sylvia: Nothing! Pa, please believe me. Believe me, for once!
Mr. Webb: I can't! How can I believe a whore?

    • Caroline: Please leave, Mrs. Oleson.
Harriet: Mrs. Ingalls, I am trying very hard to be your friend, and I would think you would show a little more appreciation. After all, you are going to be that child's grandmother!
Caroline: Mrs. Oleson, I will go to Church on Sunday, and I will ask God to forgive me for this. (throws ball of dough in her face) On second thought, I think the good Lord would have done the same thing! (throws her apron down and walks out)

    • Caroline: Albert....a boy your age has no idea--
Albert: Ma, please don't tell me I'm too young to know how I feel!
Caroline: I wasn't going to try and tell you that. And don't you ever raise your voice to me while you live in this house! Marriage.....marriage is a big undertaking, under the best of circumstances--
      Albert: I know that!
Caroline: Let me finish. When two people fall in love, that feeling is so big in the beginning. It overshadows everything. It's the only thing in the world. People tend to push real problems away, and pretend they don't exist. They don't even want to think about them, because facing those problems can be painful.
Albert: But Sylvia and I have already faced up to those problems. I have a job, I'll work hard....and I'll take care of her.
      Caroline: What about the baby?
Albert: I'll take care of the baby, too.
Caroline: I'm not talking about taking care of the baby--I'm talking about loving the baby! How does Sylvia feel about the baby? Have you asked her?
      Albert: No.
Caroline:That baby was not conceived in love. It was a cruel and brutal thing. It won't be so easy for that girl to forget. How is she going to feel about that child?
Albert: (crying) I don't know, Ma. I just want to love her.

    • Albert: As soon as you're feeling better, you're going to be Mrs. Albert Ingalls.
Sylvia: (smiling) Mrs. Ingalls! Oh, I wish we could have a Church wedding.
      Albert: Well, why can't we?
      Sylvia: Because....well, you know.
Albert: We can do anything we darn well please. If you want a Church wedding, then a Church wedding you'll get!
Sylvia: Oh, I do want one. I want a long white dress, and I want to wear flowers in my hair. Yellow flowers. And I want to walk down the aisle to you, my Albert. Kiss me, my love.

    • Charles: Listen to me, Albert. I know you care for this girl. I know you feel sorry for her, but you can't marry someone because you feel sorry for them.
Albert: I want to marry her because I love her! And the baby isn't mine, but it's part of her--of someone I love.
Charles: It's not the same thing.
Albert: Then you lied to me, Pa! I'm not your real son, but you said you loved me just the same. Were you lying?

    • Charles: Albert! Tell him the truth!
Albert: Mr. Webb, it wasn't me! I didn't do anything!
Mr. Webb: You swear it? Swear to God?
      Albert: I swear to God!
