Grace Snyder and Laura are both down in the dumps because the annual Spring Dance is getting ever closer and neither of them have a date. Both the older woman and the young girl decide whom it is they wish to ask them and so, each in their own way, set about making the object of their affections jealous so that they may ask them after all. Grace uses Doc Baker as 'bait' while Laura strikes a bargain with Willie Oleson in return for some prized marbles.
Needless to say, things don't go as planned until Caroline steps in with some good, common sense advice and tells them to ask the gents in question themselves, which seems a sound proposition, especially when it actually works!
Quite dull in places but I did enjoy the work of young Jonathan Gilbert who had a lot of screen time and performed very well as a most reluctant Willie.
