      • This episode was shot probably around the mid-summer of 1925.

      • The movie-making theme had already been used in "The Big Show" (episode no. 7) and "Dogs Of War" (episode no. 14), and would reappear in "The Big Premiere" (episode no. 189). Other movie-related episodes include "Playin' Hookey" (no. 65) and "Rover's Big Chance" (no. 209).

      • Bobby "Bonedust" Young made his first appearance in the series in this film. He's given a closeup as a member of the audience. The core group of gang kids in this film included Mickey, Mary, Joe, Johnny, Jackie, Jay R. and Farina.

      • Two older kids are featured in this episode: Billy Lord, who made a handful of appearances over several years, and Martha Sleeper, a teenager who is recruited as the leading lady of the gang's makeshift film. Within the next year, she would appear as an adult in the series.
