Episode Summary

EDIT
Mighty Lak A Goat
AIRED:
The gang gets splattered with mud by a passing motorist while walking to school. Froggy takes them to his garage where he's created some cleaning fluid with his chemistry set. The stuff works like a charm, but stinks terribly. Before long, the boys get used to the smell, but find that they're unwelcome on the bus, in the schoolroom, and in the local movie theater.moreless

      • This episode was filmed May 6-13, 1942.

      • At the movie theater, we get to see a film-within-a-film called "Don't Open That Door." Like everybody else in this episode, the actors on the screen reacts unfavorably to the boys' odor.

      • The girl working at the theater box office is Ava Gardner, who was married to Mickey Rooney at the time. According to Robert Blake, Rooney directed Gardner in this brief scene. Rooney's father is also in this film. His name was Joe Yule, Sr. Mickey himself had originally been Joe Yule, Jr., before his name was legally changed. Blake, of course, also had a name change around this time. He was no longer Mickey Gubitosi, but still played "Mickey" in the Our Gang series.
