Episode Summary

Living Single... With Children
Regine begins dating a single father named Patrick. She gets along wonderfully with his adorable daughter Camille, and agrees to spend the day with her while Patrick is away in New Jersey on business. When Patrick is delayed, Camille spends the night at the apartment. She suffers from a stomachache, and Regine runs herself ragged trying to care for the girl. Regine tells Patrick she is not ready to be a mother, but he urges her not to worry, as they are a long way from taking this step. Kyle becomes a Big Brother to a young boy named Kevon, but the boy prefers spending time with "Uncle Obie" to Kyle's dull, educational outings. Tag: Kevon pesters Kyle and Overton to teach him the facts of life.moreless

    • QUOTES (20)

      • Synclaire: (doing a crossword puzzle) What's a five letter word?
        Khadijah: For what?
Synclaire: Doesn't matter, I don't read the clues.

      • Khadijah: Sorry you gotta work on Sunday Overton, but I'm not getting behind that fridge.
Overton: Oh, ain't like I got anything better to do.
        Synclaire: Oh where's Kyle?
Overton: He's with his kid from the Big Brother program. He gonna teach him how to be a man.
Max: Yes, well I hope Kyle's taking notes.

      • Regine: (to Camille) And that's the difference between extensions and a weave.

      • Synclaire: Oh Regine, you know Khadijah. She doesn't like to appear sentimental, but inside she sees the niceness.
Khadijah: Regine you know Synclaire, she don't know what the hell she talking about.

      • Khadijah: Darling Camille, why don't you go see what Synclaire is doing?
Synclaire: Come on. I'm gonna show you how the computer works.

Camille: And then you press F10 for save.
Synclaire: Thanks. I better write that down.

      • Regine: So, I see, I'm the only one who can clean up around here. Can't you lift a finger?
Khadijah: Do I get to pick the finger?
        (Door bells rings)
Regine: All right. That's Patrick. (Opens the door and sees Max) Max, go home. We're expecting company.
        Max: And you got it.

      • Regine (About Patrick): And then I'll have him right where I want him.
Max: Tranquilized, delerious and walkin' down that aisle.

      • Sycalire: Where's Kyle?
Overton: He's with his kid from the big brother program. He's gonna teach him how to be a man.
Max: Yes, well, I hope Kyle's taking notes.

      • Regine: Morning.
Khadijah: Mmm. Sleepin' past noon it must've been a pretty good date.
Max: It couldn't have been that good or she wouldn't be wakin' up here.

      • (They are cleaning out the fridge)
Syclaire: Khadijah, does this smell like anything we can keep?
Khadijah: Does it smell like we can get another week out of it?
Syclaire: Let's see. Borederline pile or bad pile?
Max (Enters): Hey, Max in the house. What's up? What ya'll got to eat?
Khadijah (Takes bowl from Syclaire): Here, try this.
(Max tries it and spits it right out)
        Khadijah: Bad pile!
        (Throws it out)

      • Regine: I like kids. Especially when they're well-behaved and bright, like I was.
Khadijah: Bright you were not. Eatin' sand.
Regine: Once. When will you let that go?I was an angel.
        Khadijah: For Halloween.

      • Regine: That is the most adorable little girl in the world. She reminds me of myself as a child.
Khadijah: Y'all had sand for lunch?

      • Regine: Camille told Patrick she wants to be just like me when she grows up.
        Khadijah: Loud and busty?

      • Synclaire: I'm ready to have a baby right now. Except that I'm not married, I'm still in school, and I only have a part-time job. Maybe I'll just buy a cactus.

      • Khadijah: Girl, you've been going through a lot of changes for that man. Cooking his favorite foods. Going to art exhibits. Covering up your breasts.

      • Regine: Oh, Patrick! You devil. Dropping by unannounced. And me looking such a mess!
Synclaire: You should've seen her ten seconds ago.

      • Regine (to Camille): ...And that's the difference between extensions and a weave.

      • Khadijah (to Regine): Kids come with built-in b.s. detectors.
Max: And she's gonna go off like a car alarm when she meets you. Honk! Honk! Honk!
        Regine: Shut up.
        Max: Honk. Honk. (laughs)
Regine: Oh, shut up. And what makes you such an expert?
Max: Because I dated a guy with children, and it wasn't easy. When the relationship didn't work out I didn't want him to think it was because of those kids.
Syclaire: Why did you break up?
Max: Because of those kids. Some badass kids.

      • Synclaire: What's a five-letter word?
        Khadijah: For what?
Synclaire: Doesn't matter. I don't read the clues.

      • Regine: Max, the whole point of this sleepover was to give Camille some female influence.
Max: All right, okay. Camille, what do you think about boys?
        Camille: Yuck!
Max: Hold on to that thought. My work here is done. Good night!
