Love Don't Live Here Anymore (2)
AIRED:
Overton and Synclaire begin bickering about their predicament. They realize that much of their fear is the result of their anxiety about marriage, and vow to work together to overcome their doubts. A helicopter finally rescues the couple. The cruise director tries to force them to foot the bill, but Synclaire tells her off. Tripp quickly wins the affection of Khadijah and Max, but can't seem to do right by Regine. She attempts to break up his football-viewing party, but changes her tune when R&B singer Montell Jordan arrives. Although Khadijah warns that they are making a mistake, Kyle and Max refuse to re-consider their positions about his move to London. Khadijah drives Kyle to the airport, where they sadly say their good-byes. Max arrives at the last moment, and she and Kyle challenge one another to back down. As Kyle heads toward the gate, Max forlornly asks him for one last kiss. After a passionate kiss, Kyle departs, leaving a tearful Khadijah and Max to console one another. At the apartment, Max, Regine and Khadijah confer in the bathroom. They are shocked when Tripp passes by and exposes himself as he steps into the shower. Regine is the only one who seems to mind. Tag: Kim C. pops her head out of shower, warning that she and Tripp are "busy." Music: "Endless Love" (Lionel Richie and Diana Ross), performed by Kim Coles and John Henton; "I Gotcha" (Joe Tex), sung by Kim Colesmoreless

      • Regine: Oh, why am I stuck here?!
(Kyle and Regine watch Khadijah coloring a gray hair with a felt-tip pen)
Kyle: To help those who need it.

      • Kyle: Why should I give her more than she's willing to give to me?
Regine: Amen, brother. Leave the witch.

      • Max (yelling after Kyle): I just got reservations at Donald Trump's restaurant. I guess I'll have to go with somebody else!
Regine (raises her hand): Don't forget your girl.

      • (Khadijah enters Tripp's party with tray of nachos)
Regine: Why do I feel like I just walked into Hooters?

      • Khadijah: You know all that fronting is gonna cost you the man you love.
Max: Who says I love him?
        Khadijah: You did.
Max: Who says I meant it?
        Khadijah: You did!
Max: All right. Check this out, girl. You need to stop listening to what I say.

      • Max: I came here to eat, not open my soul. You know that gives me indigestion.

      • Max: I love that guy. Who is he?
        Khadijah: That's our new roommate.
Max: I thought y'all hired a new chef.

      • Max: Hey Regine, it could be me or my hormones, but you're looking mighty cute in them jeans, baby.

      • Regine: Goodbye to fickle men. From now on, it's about me.
        Khadijah: Ooh, that's new.

      • Regine: Maxine Shaw, what foul act are you doing in my kitchen?!
Max: Gettin' busy with a crab omelet.

      • Synclaire: Obie, quick. Send up a flare. (Overton flicks lighter.) Oh great. Now we're at a Funkadelic concert?
Overton: That's the best I can do, unless you want me to set my pants on fire.
Synclaire: Oh, that's how we got into this mess in the first place, Mr. Frisky.

      • Synclaire: Maybe we can make it work right here. I'm reminded of another young couple that were stranded together and let love lead the way.
Overton: The only couple that comes to mind is Thurston and Lovey Howell, but theirs was a mature island love.
Synclaire: No! I'm talking about Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins in the highly underrated '80s film Endless Love. (singing) 'My love, there's only you in my life / The only thing that's right.'
Overton: No, baby. The film you're thinking about is Blue Lagoon. Endless Love was a far less successful Brooke Shields effort.

      • Regine: You have to clear all gatherings in the common area with moi. All sanctioned events are subject to guest list approval by moi.
Tripp: But this moi pays one-third of the rent.
Regine: Oh, just hack up the French language.

      • (Tripp drops towel before stepping into shower)
Regine: Uh, I guess I'll be discussing bathroom rules next.
Max: Lookee here, girl. With hind parts like that, who needs rules?
Regine: Well, now, you need at least one rule. Never flush the toilet when somebody's taking a shower. (Regine flushes toilet. Tripp yelps)
Max: Flush it again and see if he runs out of there.

      • Regine: Let me tell you what that nacho-eating Montell Jordan did. He slips me a note, I think it's his phone number. Oh, but no. It's his stank autograph! Why is everybody trying to give me their autograph? What? Do I look like some groupie?
        Max: Well, I, uh...
Khadijah: Max, don't. No, please. Let her have her little Angela Bassett moment.

      • Overton: I talked to Kyle, and he's going to London without Max.
Synclaire: Oh, that's just so sad. I always thought the two of them were destined to be together.
Overton: Oh. Don't worry. That fire won't go out until there's nothing left of them but teeth and toenails.
