Wake Up to the Break-Up
AIRED:
A cable repairwoman flirts with Kyle and asks him to visit a museum. Max pushes him to go out with her, claiming that they are not in an exclusive relationship. Although the woman turns out to be an airhead, Kyle stresses that he is tired of being involved with a woman who refuses to respect him or show him any affection. He breaks up with Max. Regine takes her friends to a Brian McKnight concert after getting free tickets from a co-worker. Kyle and Max get thrown out after they get into a shouting match and nearly come to blows. In the security offices, they look back on their relationship. Max claims that she only cares about food, shelter, her career and good sex. Kyle tries to offer her a ride home, but she refuses to give in. Russell learns that he is to be deported back to Jamaica. He enlists the help of the Flavor staff, who can save him by proving that he is an essential employee. Their pathetic display fails to fool the INS officer, but Synclaire comes to the rescue by claiming that he is needed to help Flavor produce an issue in patois. Tag: Montage of Kyle and Max's relationship, accompanied by the Diana Ross and Lionel Richie duet "Endless Love." Music: "One Last Cry" by Brian McKnight; "Endless Love" by Lionel Richie and Diana Rossmoreless

    • QUOTES (15)

      • Synclaire: I can't believe they just broke up.
Khadijah: I can't believe they were ever together.

      • Kyle: I will say it was refreshing being with someone who wasn't afraid to tell me that she enjoyed my company.
Max: She enjoyed a blank wall, Kyle. How good can you feel?

      • Russell: All you have to do is tell the immigration official that I'm essential to Flavor and that no American can replace me.
Khadijah: So you want me to lie.
Russell: Just embellish the truth until it means something completely different. It's the American way.

      • Regine: Hey, what's up, man?
Kyle: Pretty Tony over there just sent me on a run.

      • Synclaire: Look, look. Kyle's here! And look, Maxine is here. Reunited... doesn't it feel so good?

      • Overton: Aw dang, girl! That's my Cleveland Browns mug! And it's broken! Well, that's okay. (directly to camera) They're leaving Cleveland anyway!

      • Synclaire: I gotta get them back together. I feel like this is my fault.
        Regine: Why?
Synclaire: I don't know. I have a general guilt about things, you know.

      • Brian: Aren't you that loud, angry couple?
Kyle (wistfully): Yeah, we used to be.

      • Brian: I want to tell all the men out there that a good woman's hard to find.
        Max: Thank you.
Kyle: But you can find an evil one lurking in any alley.

      • Max: Stop touching me!
Kyle: Well, if you would sit like a lady, I wouldn't have to.
Khadijah: Don't make me come down there!

      • Overton: This never would have happened if they'd followed my love agenda. Three months to hold hands, six months for a hug, a year for a kiss. Hey, by the turn of the century, they'd have been jumping the broom.
Regine: Now how could they jump the broom if she's always riding it?

      • Regine: Oh, that's right. Tonight is Kyle's date with the cable lady. So what you think, Max? She gonna give brother some free "Showtime?"

      • Overton: Hey brother, she was setting it out, wasn't she, Shorty? She did everything but strip naked and do the hoochie mama dance.
Max: And Kyle did everything but open his shirt and show her his one chest hair.

      • Russell: Synclaire, I love the way the sunlight makes your face glow. Beautiful woman, be my bride.
Synclaire: Oh, I'm flattered, but no. And it's actually combination skin. Ain't got nothing to do with the sun, daddy.

      • Russell: If I don't find somebody in the next 48 hours, I'll be shipped back to Kingston. Could you mention me to your busty, pouty roommate Regine?
Khadijah: Trust me, you'd rather be deported.
