In an early scene, Tudgeman's name appears as "Judgement" and "Touchman" in the closed captioning.
In the last scene, Matt is playing his game boy, but he has no game cartridge in it.
Mr. Dig states that the Stamp Act was passed in November of 1765, actually it was in March of that year.
Miranda and Lizzie wear shirts (barely) showing their stomachs, but Lizzie said in "Jack of All Trades" that her mother would never let her wear bare midriff stuff.
When Sam and Jo are in the kitchen acting stupid with the food, Sam is shooting the whipped cream and some lands on his shirt. But then the camera angle changes and it's not there anymore.
Mr. Dig tells Matt he has won the scavenger hunt and gets an "A" before Matt tells him he doesn't go to his school. Immediately afterward Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo cross the finish line, only to be told that somehow "Anita and Jeremy" finished first. Actually, there is some time before Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo cross the finish line. It's while they are saying their apologies, so someone could have approached Mr. Dig from another direction as Matt did.
Toon Lizzie: Fighting really hurts! (Toon Lizzie falls over a skateboard) Ow! But I'm gonna win this thing if it kills me!
Toon Lizzie: One little mistake and suddenly we're not talking. Whatever happened to "best friends for ever"?
Kate: Gordo, friends like those are harder to find than jeans that fit right.
Jo: Ethan, your hair is... amazing Sam: Yeah, it kind of.. glows! Ethan: Why thank you Mr. and Mrs. McG Sam: You use conditioner? Ethan: No, but I'll fill you in -- you know how on the shampoo bottle has directions, right? Lather, rinse, repeat? Jo: Yeah Ethan: I don't repeat. Sam (to Jo): He doesn't repeat. Jo: Interesting. And yet it still gets clean.
Kate: Oooh, what's the prize? Mr. Dig: Knowledge! (class groans) As well as an 'A' grade for the rest of the semester. Ethan: Sweet! (pause) This is history, right?
Lizzie: Miranda, you may be able to talk the talk, but you can't walk the walk. Ethan: Yeah, 'cause you know what, I can walk and talk!
Kate: I thought we were in the lead. Gordo: Well, we would have been if we didn't have to stop to buy sweaters. Kate: Two words, Gordo: half off!
Gordo: Well that's okay, because there's no 'A' in friendship. Ethan thought there was. Toon Lizzie: I missed Gordo's sense of humor, although that's probably not a joke.
Kate: There better not be a test today! My tutor's out of town and I'm already late for a mani[cure]! Larry: I can help you study if you want. Kate: Ewww! Is he like, looking at me?
Kate: I may be the most popular girl in the universe--actually, I am--but I don't have friends like Lizzie and Miranda.
Even though Mr. Dig's scavenger hunt takes place on a Saturday, Larry Tudgeman is not wearing his "weekend shirt," as seen in "Scarlett Larry!"
Continuity: Miranda states that Tudgeman beat Gordo in the Science Olympics in "Obsession" and in the Fact-athlon in "Facts of Life" the previous year. Although, she did fail to mention that she had a part in the Fact-athlon.
Kyle J. Downes (Larry Tudgeman) appears to have colored his hair a reddish-brown shade rather than its usual black for this episode.
Mr. Dig tells Lizzie and the others that "Jeremy and Nina" finished first in the competition. That's a reference to Lizzie screenwriters Jeremy and Nina Bargiel, who have written a number of episodes. The closed captioning identifies the winners as "Jeremy and Bonita."
Music includes the song "Perfect Day" by the Hawaiian singer Hoku, which, as one of our TV Tome users noted, was also used in the movie Legally Blonde. It's played here during a scene when all the teams are battling each other on the scavenger hunt.
The American historical events featured in Mr. Dig's scavenge hunt are: the Stamp Act (passed by the British Parliament, 1765); the Boston Tea Party (Boston, Massachusetts, December 16, 1773); the Plymouth Rock (the arrival of Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower in Plymouth, Mass., December, 1620); Paul Revere's midnight ride (from Boston to Concord, Mass., April 18, 1775; exaggerated and dramatized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "Paul Revere's Ride," 1863); the Battle of Bunker Hill (Charlestown, Mass., June 17, 1775); Benjamin Franklin's "discovery of electricity" (more specifically, his kite experiment in 1752 to support the theory that lightning is an electrical phenomenon); Jamestown (Virginia, the first permanent English settlement in America, May 14, 1607).
Clayton Snyder (Ethan Craft) has a new combed-down hairstyle in this episode.
Filming dates: December 3-5, 2001. The clapboard on the blooper reel at the end of the show gives the date of production as December 5, 2001.
Mr. Dig: It's going to be a bumpy ride.
Mr. Dig says he's not quoting anyone in particular, but this is similar to a famous quote spoken by actress Bette Davis at a party in the classic Hollywood film All About Eve (1950), directed by Joseph Mankiewicz ("Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night!")
Kate: That's what we're doing, Blade Runner!
Blade Runner is a 1982 science-fiction/action film set in a futuristic city of Los Angeles. It stars Harrison Ford and was directed by Ridley Scott. Kate calls Lizzie "Blade Runner" because she along with her partner Ethan are doing the scavenger hunt on roller blades.
