This is a very popular show, so since it has been done filming for years it has stayed of DC pretty long. If you want to watch LM reruns you can watch it on WON (is it?) everyday along with Even Stevens.

When did they stop showing reruns on Disney Channel? Because I remember watching them at the end of last year.

Disney Channel has been showing it for years...that showed how popular it was. Even now knowing there will not be anymore Lizzie McGuire is kind of depressing. I've liked that show for years...it brings back memories.

The show ended because a new contract couldn't be worked out, which meant Disney could only shoot the original 65. As for why Disney sold the rights to WGN. It's probably because they fealt the need to make room for their other new shows and by selling it to someone else they could make some money.

Huh I would have never figured them taking it off it was like their first break out hit that landed Disney. Here's the reason why Lizzie McGuire ended after 65. Disney wanted more they even wanted Lizzie McGuire to move to ABC so that it'd fit more since Lizzie would be in High School but Hilary's mom thought it was time for her daughter to try other things ie movies and music so they didn't accepted. IMO it's a sad and a pretty good thing cause it ended perfectly IMO and Hilary is doing great in Movies and in her singing career. As the old saying goes all good things must come to and end.

Whether or not LM being on Disney or ABC was a major deal with the Duffs I don't know, nor do I remember that being mentioned as a major sticking point. I believe the main reason was that Disney didn't want to pay what was being asked for, it happens a lot in contract negotiations. Two parties can't settle on a figure that they're both comfortable with and they part ways, it happens in the off season with sports all the time. It's also possible that Susan/Hilary thought it was time to do some other things, if so, then that's fine too.

The show went on for 4 years, that's a pretty good run. Just think of it, if this show kept on going she'll be in college by now, not a good thing. Since it's about Lizzie in high school. Lizzie in college wouldn't look that good.

After the success of LM, Disney did things differently with the cast of Raven. I'm not sure if the original contract contained a provision that allowed for more episodes if the show was a success, or they started earlier at negotiating a new deal as the original contract came to an end.
