Kate: Watch and learn.
President George Bush didn't originate the phrase "watch and learn," but he made perhaps the best-known use of it. Three days after Iraq invaded Kuwait, Bush said on August 5, 1990, "This agression will not stand." When the press asked him how it would be countered, he told them, "Just wait...watch and learn." The United States and a coalition of other countries attacked and defeated Iraqi troops in Kuwait and Iraq in January 1991 in what has become known as the Gulf War.
