Goof: When Superman changes back to Clark after melting the guns from the old people at the home his collar is not buttoned under his tie when he first talks to Lois. After the scene cuts to Lois and then back to Clark it is buttoned under the tie.
Lois: First I break in, now I'm about to go through this man's office. How can something so wrong feel so right?
Maxwell Deter: Superman, what are you doing here?
Superman: I just dropped in to say hello to Lois.
Maxwell Deter: You're not on her approved visitors' list.
Superman: I'm Superman.
Maxwell Deter: I see, and rules therefore don't apply to you. You may want to explore this need to dominate others.
Lois (searching for clues): I feel like Nancy Drew.
Nancy drew is the heroine detective of the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories series of fictional mystery novels. Created in 1930 by Edward Stratemeyer and originally written by Mildred A. Wirt Benson and edited by Harriet Stratemeyer Adams, this series has more than 170 novels to date, all published under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. They focus on the adventures of young Nancy as she searches for evidence and solves mysteries.
Dr. Elias Mendenhall is also known as "The Hangman" in this episode. The Hangman is a villain in the Batman Comics but his civil identity is not Dr. Elias Mendenhall, it's Sofia Falcone Gigante, the daughter of the mafia boss in Gotham City.
