Nitpick: In the sequence when Lois is dreaming Clark, some of the scenes where he holds her in his arms as they fly are actually from when she turned the alternate Clark into Superman in the episode "Tempus Anyone?".
Tempus: (to Lois) What do you think this is, a family television show? Only unhappy endings are allowed, here, Lois.
Jonathan: And who are you?
HG Wells: HG Wells.
Jonathan: The writer? Aren't you dead?
HG Wells: Well, only some of the time.
Tempus: There's only room in town for one time traveler, and you and this contraption are better off in my hands.
HG Wells: If I refuse?
Tempus: (points a gun) Go ahead...make my days.
HG Wells: The power of the human spirit cannot be confined to one time or place. It's everywhere.
Tempus: Oh, save the drivel for your over-rated novels.
Tempus: Well, I'll be damned. He did it! Does he think that's all it takes to finish me? All that spandex must keep the blood from his brain.
Clark: Thanks for giving me a world to come home to.
Alternate Clark: Thanks for giving me a legend to live up to.
Lois: (referring to a nuclear attack) Tempus, don't do it! You still have time, you can escape. You could, you could go to the alternative universe.
Tempus: Where "Mr. I'm So In Shape" can return me to jail? Thank you, no. Besides, I want to kill billions of people.
Superman 2: Lois, is this how it is between the two of you? Working together like this?
Superman 2: Wow.
(Lois must leave the alternate Clark/Superman by himself, his Lois disappeared years before.)
H.G. Wells: The hardest lesson is that love can be so fair to some and so cruel to others, even those who could be Gods.
Tempus: (after announcing publicly that Clark and Superman are the same person) In chess, this is where I say 'Check.'
(all attention is on Superman, but Clark and Lois appear behind him)
Clark: Uh, Honey, I think the media wants us to comment on Mr Tempus's last remark.
Lois: Um, we regret that Mr Tempus's mental health has not improved. He's obviously still delusional.
(the media turns back to Tempus)
Superman: This is where I would say, 'Checkmate!'
HG Wells: I refuse to believe that something so diabolical could be so easy!
Tempus: Well that's the Protestant in you.
Lois: This is not our Clark
Martha: Well if it's not our Clark, who's Clark is it?
Lois: We almost kissed us!
This is Lane Davies' final appearance as Tempus.
Dean Cain makes the fifth and final dual role as Clark Kent from the regular dimension, and as Clark Kent from the parallel dimension.
Hamilton Camp returns to the role of the older H.G. Wells. The role had been played several times by Terry Kiser in the interim.
To know more about the alternate Clark Kent, see "Tempus, Anyone?" from season 3.
Tempus: You're a regular Jack Webb.
Clark 2's habit of changing in a closet is an allusion to the early comic book version of Superman who regularly changed in a phonebooth.
Tempus' Poster: In Doe We Trust.
It's a play on words for the U.S. motto "In God We Trust" and also a play on the words "In Dough we Trust" meaning money drives the people saying it.
