      ADD QUOTES
      • Lois: Uh...Mrs. McCarthy, did Sean have any friends? Mrs. McCarthy: Only one that I know of. They were pen pals. Clark: They wrote to each other? Mrs. McCarthy: Heavens no! They met in the pen.

      • Dan: Well, look who's here, if it isn't the man with the smoldering eyes. Clark: What are you talking about? Dan: Mayson's diary. Pretty steamy stuff. Reads like an Emily Bronte novel. Lois: You read Emily Bronte? Dan: What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic.

      • Dan: (while pointing a gun at Clark) Unless you're Superman, I wouldn't recommend it.

      • Lois: (just before visiting Big Buster Williams) How do I look? Clark: Appropriately cheap. Lois: Just let me do most of the talking. Clark: You usually do.

      • Clark: Uh, Lois, could you hand me a nail file? Lois: Why do men always assume that women have nail files with them? Clark: I'm sorry, but do you have a nail file? Lois: Actually, I do, but only because it's part of my pocket knife.

      • Big Buster: (to a trashy-dressed Lois) That's some killer outfit. (later, Big Buster keels over, dead) Clark: Guess that really is a killer outfit.

      • Lois (picking a lock): I could get into any door in this city. Clark: I know. And that worries me.

    • NOTES (1)

      ADD NOTES
      • When visiting Big Buster Williams (Danny Woodburn), Lois and Clark use the aliases "Angel" and "Spike". In 2003, Danny Woodburn guest-starred on the television show Angel, which had two main characters in its last season by the names of Angel and Spike.

    • ALLUSIONS (3)

      ADD ALLUSIONS
      • Clark: The French Connection... it was Mayson's favorite movie.

The French Connection is a 1978 film based on the non-fiction book of the same name, written by Robin Moore. Both detail a historical drug trafficking scheme that involved concealing drugs in car interiors.

      • Gables: Everybody loves a good Stephen King novel; now they're going to live one. Stephen King is an American author known for his highly suspenseful horror plots. Specifically, Gables is referring to King's 1987 novel, The Stand, which involves the release of a deadly disease throughout all of North America.

      • Clark: Who does he think he is, Mel Gibson? Mel Gibson is an American-born Australian actor, director, and producer known for such films as Mad Max, Lethal Weapon, and Braveheart. Clark is referring to Gibson's charisma; the actor received People magazine's first "Sexiest Man Alive" award in 1985.
