If you look closely, you can see a picture of Superman in Lois' wallet when she goes to pay the crazy taxi driver towards the end of the episode.

Both Teri Hatcher and Dense Richards have played Bond girls in two different James Bond movies. Teri Hatcher was in Tomorrow Never Dies and Dense Richards was in The World Is Not Enough. Both movies starred Pierce Brosnan in the role of James Bond.
Both Dean Cain and Denise Richards went on to do a Lifetime network movie called I Do (But I Don't) in 2004.
On the DVD commentary, Dean Cain mentions that at the time of filming this episode, Denise Richards (Angela) was so inexperienced as an actress that she nearly ran into a wall while rounding a corner. This occurred just after Angela found out that Jimmy rigged the Secret Santa.
The Toyman, known in this episode by his true name of Winslow P. Schott, was introduced in the comics story "The Terrible Toyman", Action No. 64, September 1943.
If you watch the episode with the DVD commentary with Dean Cain near the end when Lois and Clark are in Lois's apartment, Lois says "You are going to get stuffed". That line made quite a stir in Australia because there the phrase has another meaning.
This is one of the few episodes Clark Kent's middle name is mentioned when Martha yells at him: "Clark Jerome Kent". He was propably named after one of the creators of "Superman", Jerome "Jerry" Siegel.
According to Dean Cain on the DVD audio commentary, this was his first writing credit. He particularly enjoyed the fact that he was writing a Christmas story, because it's his favorite holiday.
Superman's two adversaries played by Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford played Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson on the TV show The Jeffersons.
In real-life, actress Sharon Thomas is Dean Cain's mom. She also appears in the episode "The Green Green Glow of Home", playing a waitress, and in "Just Say Noah", playing a nun.
The Atomic Space Rats are an allusion the the cartoon Biker Mice From Mars from 1993.
