  • Trivia

    • Goof: In the beginning, before the credits, as Lois and Clark are talking to Dr. Martinelli on speakerphone, as the camera pans out you can clearly see the phone isn't plugged in. The phone jack plug is empty.

    • During this episode you can see that Teri Hatcher has a cold sore on her upper right lip. This might be the only episode after the beginning of Season 3 where Lois and Clark do not actually kiss on the mouth to prevent Dean Cain from contracting the virus.

    • Goof: When Lois holds up the black nightie you can see a man in a green shirt reflected in the mirror behind her.

  • Quotes

    • Leslie Luckabee: If you listen closely, you can hear Lex laughing from his grave.
Troll: If you listen closer...you can actually hear him speaking

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • In the previous episode, "Mr. Smith" states his love for the opera composer, Puccini. In each of the three episodes of this arc, we hear part of an aria from one of Puccini's operas in Mr. Smith's underground lair. In this episode, the music is "Vissi d'arte" from Puccini's "Tosca." The beauty of the music contrasts starkly with the ugliness of the surroundings, as well as the ugliness of Mr. Smith's soul.
