    • In this episode, Jimmy mentions that he just turned 20 years old.

    • Goof: When Dr. Katherine Wilder is looking through her father's files in the beginning of the episode she has on latex gloves. When she bends to pick up the folder after Dr. Golden is murdered she doesn't have them on, but has them on again when she stands back up.

  • Quotes

    • Sailin' Whalen: (To Lois, while playing Battleship with her) Uh...Your turn.
      Lois: Oh, uh...B3.
Sailin' Whalen: Hit. If I didn't know better, I'd say you had X-ray vision.

    • Sarah: Okay, look, you ever had rocky road ice cream?
Lois: I think that's a bad example if you're gonna be talking about relationships.
Sarah: Just a metaphor, Lois, just go with me. If I told you that you could only have one ice cream flavor for the rest of your life, what would it be, rocky road or chocolate?
Lois: Well, I don't know, I guess I'd have to try rocky road before I decided.
Sarah: That's the point. Clark's chocolate. I mean, it's good, it's good and all, but, you know, you've had it.
Lois: Yes, but you can put hot fudge on it, and whipped cream, and nuts.
      Sarah: Bananas.
      Lois: Oh, bananas.
Sarah: Ooh, don't take me there. Okay, now this Scardino guy, he's rocky road. He's different, interesting, chunky.
Lois: You know, Sarah, if you go around trying every flavor that comes out, you're gonna get awfully fat.
Sarah: Well, that's when you go for the little, pink, plastic taster spoons. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. I'm telling you, Lois, chocolate will always be there.
Lois: Not necessarily. I think I'd really miss chocolate if I couldn't have it.

    • Clark (to Lois): Congratulations, it's a healthy baby...basketball.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • When Superman catches kids spray painting a public building, we see that they have written "stooges" on the wall. As there are three of them, this is a reference to the Three Stooges, an American vaudeville and comedy act from the first half of the 20th century that specialized in pranks and physical humor.

    • Jimmy: I thought listening to the Violent Femmes would fry my brain.
The Violent Femmes is a four-member alternative rock band formed in 1980 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    • Lois: If Roxi Terrace is her patient, I'm Dumbo the elephant.

Lois is referring to the 1941 Walt Disney animated film Dumbo. The movie's main character is Jumbo Jr., an elephant nicknamed Dumbo. The film is based upon a book of the same name, written by Helen Aberson.

    • Jimmy: It's F Troop!

F Troop is a American sitcom that originally aired from 1965-1967 on ABC. A satire, the series takes place on a fictional Army outpost in Kansas in the year 1865. The names Jimmy later mentions are all characters on the show.

    • Clark: What did Inspector Gadget want?

Clark is ridiculing Scardino by comparing him to the titular character of the Inspector Gadget animated television series, which ran from 1983 to 1986 in syndication. Gadget is a bumbling government employee whose missions are generally successful only because of outside help, good luck, or both.
