  • Trivia

    • Goof: When Lois' barrel fills with water, it reaches her face. But when Superman starts lifting it out of the water, the water immediately begins to recede, even though she is not yet out of the water, and the only way the water could be coming in is from the top where the lid's seal is not watertight. The water should have continued to rise, and would not have run out even after it was pulled up unless it was overturned. And then when it is overturned, only a small amount of water runs out. Finally, Superman's suit is not wet after the rescue, just his face and hair- you can see a drip spot on his left shoulder.

    • Goof: Hoffman leaves a message for Lois on a tissue written with a black marker. But the message is not seen through the tissue when he is cleaning his glasses. Marker ink would have gone through the tissue and been easily visible from both sides.

    • Lois is annoyed but not surprised when she learns that Sheldon Bender is the attorney of Thorp's company Viologic. Bender was the attorney of Lex Luthor before he jumped off a building in the first season finale "The House of Luthor".

    • Goof: Thorp's henchman Wick has a nervous habit of constantly rotating a pair of balls in his hand. But in the teaser Wick drops one of the balls, and continues to rotate the single ball in his hand. Someone with such a habit would undoubtedly be more dexterous than that, and not made such a clumsy mistake. And even if he did, he would not have continued as if nothing had happened, but would have picked it up and started over again with both balls.

    • Nitpick: When Clark is at his apartment and looks at the newspaper stack that was just delivered across the street, he didn't lower his glasses when zooming in on the story as he usually does.

  • Quotes

    • Lois: You want to meet someone who knows a lot about manure, stick around. Daniel Hansen's here.
      Martha: Who's that?
Lois: State senator, he's running for governor. He's in Perry's office right now trying to sucker the Planet's endorsement.
Perry: Lois, Clark, oh, glad you're all still here. Mr Hansen was just saying how much he wanted to meet you.
Hansen: Oh, hello. I'm a big fan. I've always enjoyed your investigative articles.
Lois: Well, thank you. I'm sure if you get elected we'll have a lot to write about.

    • Clark: Look Lois, it's past babbling hour, could you get to the point, please?

    • Lois: (On the phone) Lois Lane. The trap is set? Hundreds will die? Poison gas. Does anyone else know about this?
      Clark: Lois?!
Lois: Clark, relax it's just my exterminator.

  • Allusions

    • Jimmy refers to Thorp as "the boy wonder" several times. This is a nod to another DC Comic book hero, Robin.
