there's still an hour 40 minutes until it comes on, but i want to know should i watch this or the event? they're both at the same time.. what did you think of it?

It was a pretty good episode I thought, overall plot was well executed though the pace was a bit slow at times and the main character was portrayed marvelously; also liked the rather amusing ending.

As for The Event I have yet to watch that but based on the rave reviews coming out for this show, I suspect it's better.

Watch Lone Star. Sorry but The Event looks like FlashForward. However, no judging before watching, tape one, watch it later and then you be the judge. And let us know

I'm able to watch both since my cable offers both east and west coast timeshifting channels and I enjoyed both shows. I'll continue to watch both but I hope The Event does well ratingswise. I'm tired of networks cancelling shows like this where we invest so much time watching and then just get cut off without any resolution.

It was a decent episode although I thought like I was watching a daytime soap opera. Anyway I kind of like where the show seems to be heading, will keep on watching, like meee223 thanks to the fact that I have both east and west channels, something that is going to be very useful this Wednesday where I want to watch nine shows.

I'll post my thoughts on the series premiere later on, but I wanted to point out the atrocious ratings:

4.06 million viewers with a 1.3/3 in the 18-49 demo

With those ratings, I'd be surprised if it is on more than a week or two.

Yeah, of course it bombed. It's the only pilot that I liked last night with exception to Hawaii 5-0, but only because I haven't watched that one yet.

I can't believe it dropped off so much from House. People didn't even give it a shot.

I say FOX should do more promoting AND give the show a chance. I think it's too soon to tell. Many shows premieres do excellent in the ratings and drop considerably the second week.

I don't know, but maybe this show will have better ratings next week.

Give it time. I hope FOX gives it time.

Yeah, I hope FOX gives it time to establish itself. Monday's too crowded with big shows. They need to seriously consider moving it to another day of the week, and see how it fairs.

Definitely agree, though I have a feeling the luster around 'The Event' will wear off by the second episode so I expect ratings to improve.

Hope you're right. There was huge promo for The Event where I live, but didn't see anything for Lonestar, so obviously I'd think more people tuned in to The Event. Lonestar can't be up against that show! Move it. And Lonestar has received terrific critical praise from reviewers, rating it as one of the top new shows.

I was surprised by the ratings. Based on the TV spots I was expecting this show to have a good buzz with audiences. I enjoyed the the pilot. The story unfolded pretty smoothly and it was perfectly paced. The characters were nicely introduced. I'll be watching again next week.

I didn't really expect to like this show, but I was pleasantly surprised. The main character is quite interesting, he ought to be reprehensible what with the con jobs and the bigamy – but he's so likable! Who is the actor, James Wolk, I don't think I've seen him in anything else? He reminds me of George Clooney, he has the same facial expressions and gestures.

Here's some slightly positive news:

FOX has decided to air at least one more episode of Lone Star before making a decision on what to do with it. Production will continue - episode six is filming on Friday.

The Studios should, at least for the viewer, give a Show one season before pulling the plug. I'm becoming gun shy watching any new TV Series Show because of cancellation. Haven't watched Lone Star and have no intention to watch. Get attached to a Show and its canceled.

Show is canceled after 2 episodes, damn shame because the idea has potential and I thought it was nicely executed. Trigger happy companies like FOX and ABC, will kill a lot of potentially good shows that just need a little time to gain momentum, reason I get even more hesitant to watch new shows on networks like this. Ultimately this will be their own downfall.

Really? That was fast. I feel like I am going to start watching new shows after the first season, at least if the cancel it I can go back to season one if I liked it.
