  • A Fresh and Slick entry into the world of television, Lone Star lived up to all its expectations and more.

Lone star follows the story of Robert Allen, a con man who specializes in...well conning. He has a girlfriend and a wife and is, of course, in the process of conning both of them. He finds himself torn between the two and decides to start his life on a moral high note. However, his father wishes to see him fulfill the con man role that he was meant to play. I don't want to reveal too much of the story but all I have to say is...damn. Never have I been so enthralled with a pilot episode since the series premiere of LOST. Production is amazing, the writing is impeccable, and James Wolk is perfectly charming and compelling in his portrayal of Rob Allen. I can't wait for next Monday.
  • The best pilot I've seen in a while! I'm officially a fan.

I'm officially a fan! I absolutely LOVED this pilot ... it left me with all the right feelings. It was well-written, well-cast, a little dramatic with just the right dose of warm fuzzies :) Simply amazing.

Seriously, where was James Wolk all this time? I can't believe we haven't seen him before! He's talented, lovable, cute ... and hence, a perfect fit for the role. Having Jon Voight on the cast didn't hurt either.

I do have concerns though ... this story can go in many different directions, many of which can be too lame or too melodramatic ... plus, Wolk's babyface, sweet-natured attitude can get pretty tiresome ... fast!

But for the time being, I think it's off to a fantastic start. The story is engaging, the characters are interesting and there's plenty of room for creativity. I can't wait till next week ...
