Loonatics Unleashed

Season 1 Episode 13

Acmegeddon (2)

Aired Saturday 12:00 AM May 13, 2006 on The CW

  • Trivia

    • If Zadavia is so powerful, why didn't she fight any of the villains?

Relpy: She was tied up. When she was released, she was occupied fighting Optimatus

    • When Optimatus is sucking the defeated villains into the vortex sending them back to Acmetropolis, Mastermind is lying on her back. A second later she is face down.

    • Throughout the episode, Danger Duck's powers had been drained by Sypher, but his eyes remained their normal color, not the washed-out green they usually are when a Loonatic's power is drained by that villain.

    • Zadavia's Home Planet, Freling, is named after Isadore "Friz" Freling, one of the original animators for many Looney Tunes cartoons. Kind of a tribute, in a hidden sort of way.

  • Quotes

    • Mallory: (looks up in the sky) The wormhole's gone. We're saved!
      Weathervane: What about the Loonatics?
Mallory: My guess is that they sacrificed themselves in a stupidly noble act so that Acmetropolis would be safe.
      Sypher: Losers!

    • Zadavia: Thank you Loonatics. You have saved me, and Acmetropolis. You are all heroes, my heroes.
Duck: Just for the record, she's talking about me!

    • Lexi: (About Ace's apparent death) He was the best leader. There's nothing left...
Ace: Hey, who you calling nothin'?
Lexi: (Hugs him) Ace! We thought we'd lost you!
Ace: Hey, careful! You'll wrinkle the space suit!
Lexi: (Hits him) Uh...you scared us!

    • Optimatus: Your feelings for these creatures have made you weak, Zadavia!
Zadavia: Feel this, brother! (Blasts him)
      Lexi: You go, girlfriend!

    • Optimatus: How does Zodavia put up with you?
Duck: Well for one thing, I'm very good at parties!

    • Duck: Step right up, hit the duck and win a prize!

    • Massive: Hey, we made a deal! You said we could rule Acmetropolis!
Optimatus: And you will, for the five minutes it has left!
      Sypher: Not gonna happen, Opti-dude!

    • Optimatus: You again?!
Duck: Aw, did ya miss me?

    • Ace: (to Zadavia) So boss, are you gonna spill the beans, or wait until Duck winds up as your brother's main course?

    • Duck: (Waking up on Optimatus' planetoid) Whoa! I've got to stop watching old Sci-fi movies before bedtime!

    • Duck: I need water!
Robot: You had some ten minutes ago.
Duck: Hey, I'm a duck! We're big on wet!

    • Lexi: (crying over Ace) He was the best leader...

  • Notes

    • The scene where Lexi thinks Ace is dead marks the first time that one of the Loonatics has cried.

    • The space suits that the Loonatics wear in this episode look just like the super suits they wore in Sypher. Except the super suits were blue and the space suits were red.

    • Optimatus' eyes are green, the color of jealousy. Which means he was envious with Zadavia.

    • We find out that the meteor that hit Acmetroplis was sent by Optimatus. Zadavia used her powers to slow the meteor down, and that would mean that Zadavia is the one who made all the superheroes and supervillains in Acmetroplis.

    • When Zadavia fled to Earth, she learned that Optimatus learned of her location, and decided to send a Meteor towards The City-Planet of Acmetropolis. She used her powers to slow down the meteor, and it resulted in the Loonatics, and different villains, in getting their powers.

    • We get to see where Zadavia came from and how she came to Acmetropolis.

    • This is the Season 1 finale.

  • Allusions

    • For a very split second, right after the part when Lexi hugs Ace and Rev starts talking, when Rev talks and the camera shows each Loonatics facial reaction to him, you will be able to see Ace...WITH A GREEN FACE...same colour as Tech!

    • Zadavia mentions that she and Optimatus are from the planet Freleng. The planet was named after Isadore "Friz" Freleng, who produced and directed hundreds of classic Looney Tunes cartoon shorts from 1928 until his death in 1995.

    • Optimatus: We must use this power to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations. . .

These words are the same ones spoken by Captain Kirk in the opening sequence of "Star Trek"
