  • A flashback episode that also reveals the origins of the comet.

I thought the origins of the Acme heroes could have gone more indepth; all we got was a quick summary of the exact instances before they acquired their powers and what they were doing before it. I thought it would have been more interesting if it got a little bit more melo with it. Although I do hate melodrama, there just wasn't enough melo--thought I'd never be saying that. Nonetheless I still liked this episode as it bridged towards a new enemy who is responsible for the first meteor that gave the Acme heroes their powers in the first place. Episodes usually ended in "the day is saved once again" type of manner but here it leaves in suspense.moreless
  • I REALLY enjoyed this episode! (When do I not?)

It was a little weird that it had already been a year since the show started, but that can be overlooked. It was interesting to find out what they did before the meteor hit. It was also nice to find out that they kept their original colors, that their current colors are just their costumes. That does leave the question, WHY do they change color when they're in costume?

Oh well. That's for the Tremblays to know and viewers to find out, I guess. Now all they have to do is give us a peek into their home lives and then we'll be set! ^_^moreless
  • Loonatics\\\' Origins Revealed, And Foreshadowing, Too.

This episode is clearly a foreshadowing of things to come as well as an origin episode. Each Loonatic is shown as he or she was before the first meteor struck. The alien seen at the end will no doubt be back for the two-part episode Acmegeddon. Only then will the Loonatics discover the truth about the first two meteors, and try to stop the third one.

  • TRIVIA (2)

  • QUOTES (6)

    • (After being informed a comet may destroy the planet, Danger Duck sarcastically freaks out)
Ace: (Referring to Danger Duck) Somethin's screwy here, besides him.

    • Tech: (while using hia Magnetic Shielding to ward off meteor shards) Rev, fetch my Neutron Cannon!
Rev: (comes back with three different blasters) You didn't say you wanted the Defracting Neutron Cannon, the Beam-Starter Neutron Cannon, or the one that goes "Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah!"

    • (Nearing the show's end)
Optimatus: The first time, I misjudged the meteor's fate. The second time, it was demolished by these so-called Acme Heroes. But the third time....the third time, will be the charm.

    • Ace: Uhh, Tech, why did it sound like the engines just stopped?
Tech: Uhh, that would be because the engines just stopped.
      Ace: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    • Duck: (after saving the Mayor) Ma'am, your life has been saved by Danger Duck!
Mayor: (branch breaks) Tha-a-a-anks! (lands on the ground)
      Duck: ...Kinda.

    • Rev: (thinking) I'm faster now, and I can't mess this up. (speaking) You don't have to dock my pay, this time, Cookie.
      Ace: Uh, Rev? Who's Cookie?
      Rev: Oh! I mean Ace!

  • NOTES (3)

    • This is the first appearance of Optimatus, but his name is not revealed until "Acmegedon (1)".

    • Tech E.'s Near Demise: Getting caught in an explosion during a demonstration of one of his inventions. (pre-transformation)

    • Before the meteor struck the City-Planet of Acmetropolis, The Loonatics had these jobs:

Ace - Stunt Bunny who wouldn't listen to Director's Orders
Duck - Poolboy who had to clean up the pool
Lexi - Gymnast who was refused a Cheerleading position, because she was better than the top one
Tech - A scientist of Acme Tech, who didn't like others rushing his genius.
      Slam - A wrestler
Rev - A delivery boy who couldn't get to his destination on time, even though he tried with rocket shoes.

Plus, they actually resembled their ancestors before the meteor struck.

    • The Loonatics' origin story is similar to that of DC Comics' Zoo Crew. Both teams consisted of six ordinary animals who gained their superpowers from a meteor, and both had a rabbit for a leader, and a duck on the team.

    • The Loonatics are animals who didn't get any respect from the humans they worked with at their old jobs. This is similar to the movie, Cats Don't Dance, where the animal actors also got the short end of the stick. Getting small parts and hardly any lines.
