  • The magic of Chuck Jones strikes again.

    9.5
When famous magician Ala Bahma tries promoting his show by putting posters on every tree in the forest (including the tree Bugs Bunny was living in, BIG mistake), he accidentally angers Bugs even more by using some of his tricks on him. Bugs decides to get his revenge on the magician, both by ruining his show, and humiliating him in front of an audience. Considering the fact that, "in a cartoon you can do anything" (Tex Avery), when you add magic users into the mix, hilarity is guaranteed. Chuck Jones' genius is clear all throughout this short, and is one of the best Bugs Bunny cartoons ever made.

Two interesting tidbits about this short: the line "Of course you realize this means war!" (one of Bugs' more famous and most used lines, although it was later changed into "Of course you know this means war!") originates from this cartoon. And, quite interesting, Bugs' most famous line ("Eh, what's up, Doc?") is not used at all during this cartoon.moreless
  • Delightful cartoon: "Of course you realise, this means war!"

    9.3
In this cartoon, Bugs Bunny was angered by the magician Ala Bahma and dediced to take a revenge in the act show. However, "Case of the Missing Hare" was a very supreb cartoon directed by the youngest genius of Chuck Jones. The background and design of this short was very different to the others cartoons of this period. The look inspired by chance Stephen Boustow and the UPA gang in the 1950's and the Hanna/Barbera ended 1950's-1960's TV series. In this cartoon, i like how the colours changed during the Ala Bahma's act. That's a unique sense because no one was the idea, even not today. I like too this short because it's the first cartoon that Bugs Bunny say "Of course, you realise. This means war!". More common today by "Of course, you know. This means war!".

Overall, i recommand this cartoon like a really good portrait than to heir is human. I give a 9.3 for "Case of the Missing Hare" like a beautiful cartoon directed by Chuck Jones.moreless
