Friz Freleng brings us this special animated short, featuring one of Germany's high leadership members, "Fatso" Hermann Goring, out in the Black Forest, trying to "sooth his jangled nerves". But all comes to a stop once he encounters Bugs Bunny.

Why was Bugs in the Black Forest, you ask? Well the most obvious answer would be that this is a cartoon, and to make it funny you have to add any characters would make it funny, and since it is a cartoon and anything is possible in a cartoon, why not do it. But the real answer is actually more interesting: this cartoon was the first time Bugs is shown to have taken the left turn at Albuquerque... and ending up in a completely different place, where he is usually getting chased by a "predator". Another thing to note about this cartoon is the musical dance scene with Bugs dressed as Brunhilde, and Fatso as Siegfried (from Wagner's opera), a scene which would later be adapted by director Chuck Jones into his masterpiece, "What's Opera, Doc?" (1957).

The cartoon features numerous gags in which Bugs manages to outsmart Fatso, even making him believe he is Hitler himself, and making him kiss his feet. In the end Fatso actually does capture Bugs, and brings him inside a bag to the Fuhrer, only to have Bugs come out of the bag disguised as Joseph Stalin, scaring the two Germans. Also revealed is Bugs German name/title, Bugsenheimer Bunny.moreless
