  • A bad television special featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

    5.0
The idea of Looney Tunes 50th Anniversary sounds good. Many celebrities talking about Bugs and friends and new animation by Chuck Jones. However, this special is bad. It would be good if the celebrities really said what they think of Looney Tunes, but now they just say stuff like "I remember working with Bugs". The worst stuff is said by David Bowie. He says something like "I don't have time to speak of Bugs Bunny. I'm really busy now. I don't even know Bugs Bunny. OK, I actually know him very well." Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones interviews are actually very good. The new animated parts were directed by Chuck Jones and animated by Phil Monroe. Those sequences are very good, but they are too few of those. In addition to these short sequences and the celebrity interviews, there are clips from classic cartoons. Most interesting ones are the clip from "Porky's Romance" with Petunia Pig and the infamous "long fall" scene from "The Heckling Hare". This special is an OK extra on the Golden Collection 2, but alone it would be worth nothing.moreless
