  • Fascinating show. Ed Kritzler, an Indiana Jones with a New York accent, makes the pirates live for us

The show is great. First of all I learned a lot about pirates, something I knew nothing about (except for Treasure Island as a kid, a favorite book). It's not such a happy story, the pirates were outlaws who the British crown used against the Spanish, and when they had no more use for them, executed them. Except for the leader, who became fantastically wealthy, so of course the Crown made him Governor. The other pirates, before they were executed, spent all their money on wine women and song. It was very interesting learning about the pirate ships, which were so perfectly designed to loot the Spanish galleons loaded with gold. My favorite person in the show was Ed Kritzler, who clearly lives on the Island of Jamaica -- he was interviewed on the beach by the water and looked so at home there. He knew so much about the pirates, that it all came alive for me when he spoke. Who these men were, what they did, how much money was involved. And the sneaky way the Crown legalized their activities. This was the highlight of the show for me, because his warmth and passion, made both the show and topic live. I look forward to seeing more of Ed Kritzler, on TV shows about the Caribbean. He made it so much fun, and I learned a lot which interested me. Anyone who likes pirates or history, would love this showmoreless
