  • Whispers to a scream.

From the date Hurley and Libby never had to Ilana's lethal explosion, this episode had everything you could ask for and more. As the whispers are revealed to be the voices of those who died here, still trapped for reasons yet to be disclosed, Michael pleads Hurley not to get himself killed. Ironically, this otherwise "Man of the Year" - as Dr. Chang introduces him on the flashsideways - still has a lot of convincing to do despite Ilana's shocking death after she followed the very instructions Richard gave her.

Ane yet Richard can't help himself, he has to stop the MIB or else her death would be for nothing; the embodiment of Jacob that is Hurley must lead what's left of the candidates to talk to the MIB hoping that the dead people he speaks to are right and that's what it takes to save them all, while on the other side of the island Ben follows Richard, perhaps for the last time, to a suicide mission in order to protect the island.

On the flashsideways, however, the biggest shocker occurs once the otherwise trapped inside a well, Desmond Hume, charges against John Locke as if to kill him for all of what the MIB did in his name. His fate, much like the island's, remains a mystery until the next epiosode.
