...and the massive amounts of Jack&Kate or Sawyer&Kate threads. I'm sick of those too...the only person I wanna see Kate with is Juliet.

It's okay. I don't care anymore. It's not like I worked forever to make those lists, and keep them constantly updated. Speaking of which, I should probably update them.

Try reading the headers... then you'll know if a topic has been discussed. Then find the topic that most resembles what you were going to say, and post there.

This topic has now been updated. I have added a new category of topics about the Oceanic Six, and who is in which group on the Island. Please use the relevant topics instead of creating new ones.

    Thank you.

Seriously though, I don't enforce the list because I can't. It's just there to let people know that topics have already been discussed, which they obviously don't, judging by the amount of raw crap that people have been posting lately. In fact, there have been so many ridiculous repeat threads lately, that I can't and most likely won't update my list again.

Is it too much to ask that people look through the forums a bit before they ask a stupid question? Nine times out of ten, if you have a question, five other people did too, and they already posted their own "special" little threads about it. Why do we need a sixth?

Fishbulb....for what it's worth... "I" appriciate all you've done. You have worked so hard trying to keep this forum going smooth. The last "discussion thread" from the last episode was ridiculous !!! A while back I kept trying to refer other posters to check out your thread. At this point, I don't know what to tell you. It seems people just post a new thread for every thought that pops in their head. I wonder if they even bother to look back on what they have posted to see any replies. I wonder if whoever the "moderators" are could do anything to weed out threads ( or even posts) that have repeated themselves hundreds of times. It's not just new posters that don't understand how it works! One recent poster actually said they didn't care to look to see if anyone mentioned a particular topic. Well, I don't think I'm the only one who really appreciates all your work, There's many out there. I don't post too much because the questions I have are usually asked by several others. I sometimes like to add a little of my own theories. Do you think the "moderators" can help??

    I agree wholeheartedly!

Down with laziness, and up with personal motivation!

If a person has the audacity to exclaim that they don't care if something has already been asked or posted, then quite frankly, I don't think that they deserve the right to post in this forum at all. What a total disregard for others! How lamentable!

OK...so I'm not a site official or anything but hear me out. I agree there is a duplicate thread problem on here...a bad one. This in itself is causing the problem to get bigger. You guys want people to look through threads first to see if it has been posted...and I always do...but I also can say it's rather annoying to have to look through so many when I only get a few free minutes a day on here (kids, schoolwork, etc.). I'm sure other people also only have limited time to be on here and don't always have time to pour through the millions of threads on here to find the right one...so they just start their own, which just adds to the problem. Maybe some of the site officials should be enforcing the rules and deleting duplicate threads or merging them if there is a way. If people's posts start getting deleted they might take the time to make sure they are following the rules...they also might do it out of respect for the fact that you guys are trying to keep it clean and easier for them to look through. If they dont like it then too bad...they don't have to be here. It's just a suggestion and it would sure clean up the message board and make it easier for us to find the right topic...otherwise the problem is just going to keep getting bigger.

It would be great if the moderators could merge similar threads, but that also takes time. Part of the reason why I created this thread was to have a list of all similar threads in one place, so you don't have to use the useless search function.

Thanks for all the support. If only everybody were as gung-ho about reducing forum clutter as you guys.
