sorry if this is irrelevent, but i just watched the last 5 min. of "i do" again, and i got goosebumps-- that truly was a great ending, and knowing what happens makes it even better.

So, for those of you who were disappointed with it, give it another chance, and you'll see how wonderful it truly was.

It was a decent ending, but it was overshadowed by the revelation in episode 4 about there being two Islands, and by the appearance of "Patches."

another great thing about that scene was the fantastic acting-- today, on television, there are some shows that could be great, but they lack really good actors-- each of the actors in the last 6 min., even juliet, who had no lines, played they're part perfectly-- it is honesly one of the most intense and moving 5 minutes of television-- esspecialy the part with kate and sawyer

i urge you-- watch it again

God the last five minutes was incredible, I got goosebumps as well, for the third time I watched it. Yes I do agree they were fantastic actors playing their roles soo brilliantly. I loved the emotions they conveyed during the last five minutes. Kudos to the incredible emotions and expressions from Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Alex and who could forget Tom's facial expression when he saw Jack knock the crap out of that guy. This was truely a wonderful cliffhanger, LOST still has it. I honestly can't get over how well they acted in this episode. I also love the scene with Jack, Juliet and Ben at the very beginning, man Jack played that part so well its unbelievable, the things he said were great. Btw, Jack just SAVED Sawyer's life, he just SAVED Sawyer's life. Awesome, a fantastic ending.

If theres one drawback, it was the flashback scenes, was very interesting, Kate's background was never interesting.

    Let me start with...
    :
    LOST still has it

I agree that was a great cliffhanger that frustrated me because we have to wait so long but also left me wanting more.
I just watched it again and I love the bit when Jack elbowed the other guy, it was very Jack...Bauer of him lol, the cliffhanger was a very 24 style cliffhanger like when Jack (Bauer) exploits an opportunity and leaves people in an ultimatum when someones life hangs in the balance.

Also I really like that Jack told Kate to tell him the story of when they first met on the island, I was watching that scene again a few days ago and it was a nice touch. I think the standoff was eclipsed by Eko's death because we know the writers aren't going to kill someone else off after one episode and this IS Sawyer but from his body language it looked like he had accepted his fate - good acting from all of the actors on the show.

    Correction: Great acting

Yea it did seem like Sawyer just accepted his fate and just kneeled there waiting to be shot. I loved his expression, that moment had me on the edge of my seat. Its ironic that his life, as we know right now, was spared by none other than Jack. That was a nice touch. And he just simply gets up afterwards, haha classic.

Yea, a long time of waiting to do.....

as  good as sawyer was, kate was 900 times better (i'm not down playing holloway, but praising evi)-- it was absolutely amazing-- first with the "don't even think about it sawyer, you fight", "stand up" (which is, arguably her best line to date), "don't you give up", and then her crying, when she realizes there is nothing she can do-- priceless

Actually you're right. Well, except for the 900 times part but Kate did act very well in this episode. Very motivational, she tried to get Sawyer to be tough, which didn't work out with Sawyer, he has too much of a soft spot for Kate.

In fact, all the actors played very well in this episode.

Definetly a good ending. Unlike some endings, it can be enjoyed by anyone as there was no reveal to confuse us. It was just plain suspence. I love it. Definetly the best Fall Cliffhanger yet.(The first one being the hatch's discovery and the other being Michael talking with 'Walt')
