Why cant a mystery have subplots?

And how is it scary that 10% are gay? We should be embrassing them with open arms, they are humans and they deserve recognition on national television.

um, I wont even get into that. But I want to enjoy a clean show. LOST has won the family television awars for best drama two years in a row. Why ruin that? I dont have anything against gays but I just dont want them in LOST. I could live without any sexual mentin in LOST altogether.
It would hardly be shoved down your throghts. 45 people on the island, it is rediculous to beleive not one of them is gay or bisexual when 10% of the population is (Kinsey Report).
I'm not familiar with the Kinsey Report, so i don't know if that focuses on the American population or the international population (lost is an international cast). Say ten percent of the world is gay or bisexual, that wouldn't make it ridiculous to think that there isn't any homosexual people in a random group of forty five, it all depends.

That said, as long as the character doesn't suddenly act totally different, if they keep on acting like they always do, i don't see whats wrong with it. I honestly wouldn't even see it changing the show, at all.

as long as its never addressed, they can make it work. But if the charater is revealed to be gay, they wont just let it go.

so what, every group in society deserves recognition on national television? that seems like a bit of a stretch. sure, even the socially unacceptable groups are made up of human beings, but what difference does that make.

i know some people want to put homosexual relationships on tv because it has literally changed minds. thirty years ago (even less in many places), it was considered no different than incest. these days, we have gay pride parades on a regular basis in cities all over the world.

but really, is this the forum?

i don't see why the show should even be concentrating on sexual relationships period. if the shows turns into a survivor style temptation island, i know i'll quit watching.

yes, the jack-kate/sawyer-kate triangle is interesting, but i don't want a mushy love story. a few minutes here, a few minutes there is fine, but i'd hate to see a show dedicated to who she finally picks.

I doubt there will be a gay Charecter.. and Jack does not seem gay at all, it would almost have to be a new charecter.and Ecko does not seem gay, maybe Ana is a lesbian.. but over all I do not see it happening

ana was with a guy, danny. she was pregnant. if it wasn't danny's child, it still couldn't have been another woman's child.

but i agree, i don't see it happened, mostly because it's NOT as controversial as it used to be. sure, it was a big shock to find out about bonne and shannon. it's incest to some degree (though not quite, did they actually share any parents or were they just step-siblings), but also, it explained their relationship, why they treated each other the way they did.

a homosexual relationship couldn't produce that level of shock or resolve any confusing relationships (though this may change, i really don't know).

People are assuming that if they introduce a gay character (or reveal that someone we already "know" is gay,) that it will mean there will be a sexual relationship-related story line. But that isn't necessarily the case. Straight people aren't defined by their sex lives; we can all agree that there are hundreds of stories that can be told about a straight person without ever delving into their sex life. Why should it be any different with a gay character?

It wouldn't be preposterous to accept that none of the 48 survivors happened to be gay, but statistics do argue against it. If the passengers of this flight represent a cross-section of the human population, then someone is likely gay whether you know it or not.

I am hoping if there is a gay character it is Saywer. Man I would love to see these boards right after that was revealed. To see the reactions of all the pissed off women and this plot turn would shut down part of the Soap Opera triangle / square crapola that Lost has started spoon feeding us all.

I thought Charlie was already 'Out'! He and Hurley seem to have some real sexual tension, especially about the Lotto money. And of course I am kidding you all.

My vote is for a gay male-loving nano-bot monster, this would explain why only Locke and some of the guys have seen it. The Monster already tried to drag Locke into its own Hatchelor Pad.

um, maybe you dont think it is but some people do. So since more people than you think are not supporters of hmosexuality, I think that it has no place on LOST. I dont know why you even need to add it. LOST is perfectly fine without it and you know darn well that homosexuality will keep religious people from watching this. So the more people watch tis, the higher the ratings will be. So there really is no need for this. Lets just drop the issue.

thats not why i thoight a gay charecter improbable.. It is just that most of the season one charecters had there lifes explained enough for one to suddenly be gay would be unlikely..
A lot of shows have high ratings have a gay charecter and except in a few episodes it is not an issue Take Er for example..
thats why I thought it would have to be someone from the tail section.. If LOST gets a gay charecter fine , if not fine

The problem with all that un-sexual stuff is that why would they even introduce it if they were just gonna throw it away. There really is no need and I think I can figure ot who will be gay but in all honesty, the odds that a gay person is on the island are slim. And homosexuality isnt a cuture or backround, it is a lifestyle-CHOICE. So there is n need to introduce it. And other shows who do fine with a main character who is gay arnt LOST. This show would only be ruined by it. PLus if the character is gay, he would have to be babied the series because if he got killed or even injured. Well i shouldnt have to say more.
