Sawyer referred to Mr. Friendly as "Zeke." Most likely the Zeke reference was to the book of Ezekiel in the Bible, about a prophet in exile. The allusion is that as Ezekiel spoke for his people, Mr. Friendly spoke for the Others. Or maybe he's just referring to Mr. Friendly as "Zeke" because it is one of the stereotypical names for "redneck" characters. Mr. Friendly and the others seem to be "mountain men" like the ones from Deliverance.
