After some dodgy episodes, Lou Grant returns back to form here. Its main theme is thought-provoking, its depiction of one (at the time current) event in American history captures your attention and the mix of drama and comedy works well. The educated professional refugee trying to build a new life in a strange country, while trying to get his family together again, is beautifully played by an unknown actor. The refugees are neither presented as saints nor as sinners, with the neighborhood's reactions striking me as very realistic. Add to this a little detective story and some comedy lines (Lou's attempts at avoiding his cousin are wonderful) and you get a decent Lou Grant.moreless
