      • Charlie: We had the Vietnam War on the front page for over seven years. Do you really think there's something to be said that hasn't already been chewed over?
Lou: Well, yes, we had the war on the front page, but I'm not talking about the war. I'm talking about the veterans. I don't think their story has been told.
Charlie: The question occurs to me: "Is anyone interested any more?"
Lou: Is that the question or is that the problem?

      • Lou: These guys, who never had the chance to handle responsibility at home, went there and suddenly found themselves squad leaders, in positions of command. When they got back home, they were just a bunch of unemployables. A guy who had a dozen men under him over there, couldn't understand why all he had offered him over here was the chance to push a broom.
