Beef prices soared through the roof in 1973 as a huge food crisis emerged shortly after the oil crisis of the previous year.
Herbie says, "I see you have a Nephrolepis exaltata 'Bostoniensis'" which is known more commonly as a Boston fern.
Herbie: (bumps into Mary Beth in the hall) Excuse me, I was working on your neighbors door, it was sticking and needed a drop of love, um oil.
Herbie: I'll drop by with the bill later when I have to install a Meyerhausen 314 for Mrs. Johnson, poor woman.
Mary Beth: Why what's wrong with Mrs. Johnson?
Herbie: Somebody broke into her refrigerator stole her hundred dollar caviar, some of her imported cheese and two bottles of champagne she was chilling.
Mary Beth: That's terrible.
Herbie: It could never happen to you.
Mary Beth: I've got something more valuable than all of that in my refrigerator, I've got beef!
Herbie: I better put a lock on that!
From 1972 to 1983, Loretta Swit was known as "Hot Lips" on the long-running hit series "M*A*S*H".
