I always regretted that this pilot never became a series. It would've made a great prime-time animation series for adults. Melvin Danger is a teriffic character in the Maxwell Smart mode: an entertaining combination of skill and ineptitude. Although he fumbles his way through the case, Danger somehow manages to succeed in the end. With his loyal chauffeur Williams and his infatuated secretary Tangerine, our hero could've spent each week making wrong deductions, tailing innocent suspects, and still solving the case. Each success adds to Danger's ego, which is almost as big as his nose, until he's convinced that he's the greatest detective since Sam Spade. In fact, he sounds a lot like Sam Spade, thanks to Richard Dawson's voice work.
A missed opportunity to add to the Hanna-Barbera stable of characters.
