Marc and Anna are introduced by an auction house employee as the Tabors, and later Anna Tabor says "my father was part of the Polish aristocracy". Tinker goes to the Polish Embassy to check this story out and later reports to Lovejoy that Count Tabor "had no daughter, so whoever Anna Tabor claims to be, she's lying."
Anna surely has the sense not to claim she is the daughter of a Count Tabor while at the same time appearing to be the wife of another Tabor, so that her married and maiden names are the same.
This is the first episode where Charlotte Cavendish's blue Jaguar XJS with a blue interior makes an appearance. In the previous episode (The Lost Colony) her car was a red Jaguar XJS with a tan interior.
Lovejoy appears in a bath robe with a Manchester United towel around his neck. Ian McShane's father, Harry, played for United and Ian is a supporter.
When Lovejoy and Charlotte enter the inn at night, Lovejoy is carrying two bags. One of them has Manchester United printed on it. Ian McShane's father Harry McShane was a player for the team.
Continuity error: When Lovejoy talks to Melanie Ford to set up the auction for Madeline Gilbert, he tells Melanie he has to keep his client's name confidential. After the burglary, Melanie tells Lovejoy "you didn't tell me this was Madeline Gilbert's house." Yet earlier, when James Ford gives Michael Le Mar an inventory for the Carlton Grange auction forwarded to him by Melanie, the insert of the document clearly shows "CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT INFO ADDRESS c/o Ms Madeline Gilbert".
