  • Lytton's ex-wife gets him to investigate a neo-Nazi organization which seems to be based near the village where she lives.

    7.0
The National Front, a very sinister organization of British fascists, was often in the news in the 1970s and 80s, and is the obvious inspiration for the extreme-right-wing group of thugs featured in this episode. The confrontation between Lytton and its chief in a "museum of madness" - a country house filled with Nazi artefacts - is quite effective, but one could really wish that Fiona Mollison, as the former Mrs. Lytton, weren't such a drawling caricature of English poshness. Her patronising remarks about the "nice little man" running a village shop (an Indian immigrant who's been attacked by the thugs) seem pretty unpleasant to a modern audience and are at odds with the liberal attitudes the show is trying to promote.
