  • Why is a famous tennis star leaving his wife? Lytton's assistant Dolly discovers the real reason.

    6.5
The absurdity of this series is neatly encapsulated by the ending of this episode, where Lytton's cheerful young woman assistant, Dolly (who hopes to become a similarly high-powered journo herself some day soon), is seen weeping copiously and muttering, "Sometimes I hate my job!" She has just learned that a famous married tennis star is secretly gay and Lytton has run the story. Well, really, what did this naive innocent expect? Have her years in London journalism taught her nothing? Holly de Jong, who plays Dolly, was a delightful actress of the 70s and 80s, and deserved a better script than this one. Whatever happened to her?moreless
