Now I watched the show long ago, and I've only got the first 3 seasons on DVD that have been released in Australia. I don't know whether Mac had a new home after season 3, but I'm assuming he didn't...

So what did you prefer? The apartment or houseboat?

The houseboat actually ends up getting destroyed in a later episode (can't remember the name of it) in about season 6 or 7. He then moved into another apartment.

Here's a complete list of all of MacGyver's homes, on RDA's own website:
    http://rdanderson.com/features/location/location.htm
He had the Griffith Observatory in the pilot, two different appartments in L.A. in seasons 1 and 2, the houseboat from seasons 3 to 6 and the loft in season 7.

Given the choices of this poll, I choose the apartment. From the exterior I quite like it, and I even saw it coincidentally when I was visiting L.A. although I think it's pretty cool to give him a houseboat later, because it's something special, and Mac is special From the interior, I like the loft from the last season the most, and I remember some funny scenes that took place there.

Definitely the houseboat! I wanted to live there when I was a child. And have MacGyver train me in everything he knew!

The apartment for me. I always loved the whole California (real California) vibe of the second season. The weather, the beachside apartment, the better cars (yellow IROC-Z or the cheap jeep...no contest) and the way the atmosphere was more true to what the characters were saying or where they were supposedly based. Once it moved to Vancouver I always got a laugh out of seeing them breath steam or seeing little piles of blackened snow on the side of the road while they are supposed to be in California.

Vancouver and the houseboat did have it's hi-lights though. The work based wilderness weekend getaway as well as the "bigfoot" ones have always been favourites.
