MacGyver wraps up his run on Monday nights with a decent, if unsubstantial, urban-themed episode.

This episode is frequently held up as one of the worst offenders by critics of the "MacGyver: Social Worker" genre, and unfairly in my opinion. This episode had a layered enough story that made it interesting to watch the first time and helps it hold up better to repeated viewings than most seventh-season episodes. Particularly well done was the slippery maneuverings of building inspector Clinton Ferris forging the names of old employees and filtering assets through the shadow corporation named after his show dog. Graffiti artist Lobo also had some fire in his belly, and made for an above-average sidekick for MacGyver. The general flow of the story was unpredictable and the pacing was steady. This clearly wasn't one of the best MacGyver episodes of all time and probably not even in the top half overall, but for whatever reason, I felt it had more going for it than most seventh-season episodes. Given that this episode received some hype for being the last MacGyver episode on Monday nights after five-and-a-half years in the slot, the ratings perked up to a season-high-but-still-nothing-to-brag-about 10.9 rating. But to put things in perspective, MacGyver's pilot episode received a 10.9 rating back in 1985, and was quickly moved to the short list of early cancellation candidates because the numbers were so weak.moreless
