Macross Zero is the prequel to the original show, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross. A giant alien spaceship has crashed into Earth. Shin Kudo, a young fighter pilot, is in combat when his team is shot down by a mysterious, transforming fighter jet. Finding himself on an abandoned island, Shin discovers the connection between the mysterious alien ship and the primitive villagers on the island.
