Excanging Brockwell was a bad decicion. And trying to fetch audience by having a guest star like mel brooks an even worse one. His appearences as uncle phil are really annoying. Once they made the same mistake with jerry lewis. I really don't like when writers try to write a plot around a guest star who is the only reason for making the episode. bäh.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Mel Brooks is the second actor from CAESAR'S WRITERS, THE 2000 YEAR-OLD MAN, THE GREAT STANDUPS, and THE MUPPETS GO HOLLYWOOD, that appears in MAD ABOUT YOU. The first was Carl Reiner.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Paul: We even have Yah-tzee?
Jamie: Yes, we've Yah-tzee! It's right under here.
Paul: Okay, a little yah... You *would* *not* believe the stories he was telling me - we had this welterweight in our family, this guy who was a fighter in the Thirties, apparently like, not that great, but he... I mean, like all these people... What a great idea for a movie! It's like... my family! Just... Buchmans! That's the name of the film. You know, over the years, how the Buchmans came to this country and converged and scattered and then coursed through the veins of America... to me that's a great movie, don't you think?

  • NOTES (3)

    • First appereance of Harry Groener as Lance Brockwell. Last season, the character was played by Alan Ruck, but he was replaced by Harry this season.

    • Uncle Phil "spits" on Paul's shirt when his counting for the guys to move the couch. When he comes close to Paul and says "TWO...!" he spits on his shirt...

    • Note that in this episode, Paul Reiser is struggling not to laugh, during Uncle Phil's (Mel Brooks) appearance! Sometimes you can see that he keeps biting his tongue to control his laughter.
