When Jamie kisses Paul in the cinema, the following short dialogue is exactly the same as when they kissed for the first time (episode 1x11, 'Met Someone')

Here's how the show ended:

Ira and Marianne:
Ira and Marianne ended up with eight children, one from every continent and two from New Jersey.

Mark and Fran:
Mark and Fran invited an adventuresome Swedish couple into their marriage, and they've never been happier.

Marvin:
Marvin became an international wrestling champion fighting under the persona "Angry Tina."

Debbie and Joan:
Debbie and Joan got married in Hawaii after it finally became legal for keeps. Debbie's husband still thinks it's a phase and he phones on the first of every month, saying, "Come on."

Sheila:
Dr. Sheila Kleinman became Mabel's therapist. She thinks she's very good.

Burt and Sylvia:
My grandmother moved to Boca Raton, Florida but it didn't take, so then she moved into my parents building, but two floors down, as not to intrude.

Lisa:
Lisa is exactly the same.

Nat and Murray:
Nat Ostertag became the host of the longest running local cable TV show, "Hey D'ere, Ho D'ere, It's Your Dog D'ere."

Hal and Maggie:
Hal and Maggie Conway were found to be spies and were deported back to England. Nobody there likes them either.

Ursula:
Ursula Buffet, as you know, became governor of New York.

Mabel:
She's fine.

Paul and Jamie:
And these two, if you'll pardon the expression, lived happily ever after.

Janeane Garofalo and Paul Reiser also worked together in "Bye Bye Love".

Carol Burnett & Tim Conway also appeared together in "The Carol Burnett Show."

Paul watches a lot of "M*A*S*H" in this episode. The previous episode features Jamie Farr who played Klinger on "M*A*S*H".

Paul ponders to his therapist that he might call his dream formula Buchman's Last Formula. This is clearly inspired by the famous Fermat's Last Theorem, perhaps the most famous mathematical mystery in history. Pierre de Fermat scribbled a note in the margin of a book he'd been reading that he had found this "truly marvelous proof" but the margin was too small. He unfortunately died without providing this proof, leaving the world to ponder this mystery for centuries.

Although the proof has been confirmed by modern mathematicians using contemporary methods, there is a strong belief that Fermat's proof had to have been more elegant and simple. Fermat's proof was lost in the fabric of time; Paul's dream-formula got lost in the fabric of his dry cleaning sadly.

According to many cross-overs, the universes of "Cheers" and "Mad About You" are the same. However, Rhea Perlman's characters in both shows are different.

At the end, Chaplain Olson was screaming "Why do I always have to play a chaplain?!". That's a refference to the fact that William Christopher usually plays priests.

Jerry Seinfeld appears in this episode as himself, so we can't now if he was the Seinfeld known by the show Seinfeld, or by his comedic performances in pubs. His character from the series is also named Jerry Seinfeld, and that's where the entire confusion starts, mostly because Seinfeld's character Cosmo Kramer appeared previously on the show.

While comical on tv, one must be wary of an induced long-lasting erection. According to Viagra, if you have an erection that lasts more than four hours, you are to call a doctor immediately, at risk of permanent penis damage.

After the episode (which is done in one take), Paul Reiser, while in character, explains to Helen Hunt why it is very difficult to film a scene in one take.

During the final push when Jamie is giving birth, Paul's hand changes from holding Jamie's hand on the side to holding Jamie's head between angles.

At Roosevelt hospital, Jamie requests that Paul return home and retrieve Jamie's ring. Paul estimates that he could be back in 20 mintues, implying 10 minutes each way. Not in New York City. Even if the Buchmans lived next door to the hospital, merely leaving a 1000+ bed hospital, and negotiating the Buchman high-rise would require more than 10 minutes.

It's been revealed that Jamie's mom's name is Theresa. However, she's credited as "Jamie's mom".

When Paul hurts his foot and goes to the hospital, the nurse repeatedly refers to him as "Mr. Burkman."

Klarik's Department Store is named after writer Jeffery Klarik.

GOOF: In the scene at the old apartment, just when Paul starts looking for his father, you can see the microphone on the top of the screen.

When Paul's parents are talking about their first date, they tell the crew of "Buchman" - and in a few moments Paul - that mobster Frank Costello came to thier table to ask Paul's [future] mother to dance, Paul's mother then says Frank Costello died two days later.

Since Frank Costello died of natural causes in 1973, the elder Buchman's first date could not have been in 1973!

Further proof: The very next Episode, "Burt's Building" states that it was 1964 when Paul stole bubblegum from the soda shop, and that he was 7 years old at that time.
